Look on page 6 (picture of the board) of the electronic User's Manual.  It is #16.  On page 27 of the manual are the directions.

Do you have the 780i SLI or the FTW?

If you have the 780i SLI FTW, look on page 5 of the Users Manual for it, and it is #16 (CMOS Clear) which is a red button. The red button on the 780i SLI FTW replaces the 3 pin jumper on the 780i SLI analog board.

The number you provide in post #6 is the 780i SLI FTW board in which case it should have the red button.  That button is used to clear your CMOS.

thanks  vista....so then i have the reset button and that is the extent of the control i have to reset the cmos....the reason im so confused is that i see post where you can "clear" the cmos competely and start from scratch with settings ie; you have to set the date/time/ all inputs etc....the reset button only puts "some" of the settings back to square one or factory original settings...just wondering if there is a difference

To completely reset the BIOS, you need to remove the motherboard battery for 10 minutes.  If you had the analog board and only used the jumper, you would get the same result as with the red button on the FTW board.  You would also have to remove the battery of that board to completely reset the BIOS.

You are welcome.  Unplug your PSU, remove the battery for 10 minutes, and hold the start button for 10 seconds.
