EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 GAMING HYBRID VS EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 HYBRID performance? sorry if this has been asked or posted before but about two weeks ago I ordered the SC2 hybrid and im wondering if now did I make a mistake? hoping that the difference is so slight its moot

looked at that thread didnt see a comparasion... Im not going to OC just looking for stock comparasion bettween the two for performance/sound (how loud)/how warm/and what typical FPS is. thanks :)

yeah about that I dont think i can return my SC2 hybrid....and last i checked the FTW3 was out of stock....the question was more was the FTW3 a noticable difference other than just eye candy

Still getting some kinks worked out on my system, got a crude OC on cpu, and I'm not the greatest at bench'ing but here what I got so far. R7 1700 3.8 1.3v 3200C14   I have replaced the stock fan with a corsair RGB HD120. Can't say I really hear it, got 4x140's and 3x120's in my case sitting right next to me and most I can hear is a little airflow. Appears to stay pretty cool so likely has a good bit of headroom.

Don't worry, there is not a huge difference in performance between those cards. Usually a couple fps up or down. Silicon lottery is probably going to make a bigger difference than anything else.

Ok thanks, like i said when I ordered mine I had no idea the FTW was comming I imagine if you wait long enough a kingpin hybrid would be availble too :)

+1 on Redleader00 It's more about aesthetics than a huge performace difference. It might give you more room for O.C as well (not that much, but you shoud be able to hit 2000Mhz+ with ease) Also, since both use the same GPU Chip, GPU cooling will be the same (not only the GPU is watercooled, but the copper contacts the memorys as well). Maybe the VRM/PWR phases have a little difference on the temperature across the models. You can expect something very close on this video by Gamer Nexus:

I agree, most of the difference are purely aesthetics.
My FTW3 Hybrid boosted to 2000MHz out of the box. I haven't tried any overclocking yet but I have to think it has more left in it.

They both use a similar independent VRM heatsink and fan, separated from the CPU/Memory cooling unit. The noticeable differences are that the FTW3 has a larger heatsink due to the size of the PCB, and a larger fan, also due to the size of the PCB. In theory, the FTW3 Hybrid should be able to cool the VRM better and quieter, but with these types of heatsinks/fans for the VRM, along with the heatsink/pump directly cooling the GPU/VRAM, there shouldn't be much of a difference in the overall VRM temps between the two cards.
