It should idle in the 100's, not that high.  Something is using it/making it idle that high.

Could be a 120+hz monitor or may need to do a clean install of your drivers or could be a program making it or you could have Prefer Maximum Performance set in the Nvidia settings for power management to make it idle that high.

May not be an issue per se but should idle in the 100's.

LN2 with custom BIOS no one else will get a hold of. Useless. People on custom water would kill for a custom BIOS because we could push so much further. Instead all we can insure is our cards don't downclock as temps rise.

Oh common.  Don't be a negative nancy.  I mean yes, if the conditions are right, you can achieve this kind of greatness but it just goes to show you that its capable of.

All we can hope for are to see better numbers on water than those on air.

This has been the thing since the 900 series, if you have over 60 Hz on your monitor it will keep the speeds up, my 980 ti's did this and now my 1080's are as well, however it is at 400-1100, never 1400.  this is with 1 144 hz 1440p and 2 60 hz 1440p monitors

Right.  I have nVidia FE's and on just a custom fan profile and no OC they are at 1936 Mhz top, easy 125 Mhz OC with no extra voltage.  The FE's seem to all be the same.  The thermal throttling is kind of annoying, but it does it in such tiny increments, never had mine go below 1911, typically only 1924.
