No matter how nice you may think an air cooled solution works, water cooling will always be better. The biggest issue with air cooled solutions are that ambient temperatures will continue to rise over time resulting in the GPU down clocking in order to maintain thermal and power targets. Water cooling helps lower these targets and thus the card will overclock higher and for much longer periods of time vs. air cooled solutions. Also, did I mention water cooling is near silent operation ;-)

Not necessarily, the Noctua D14 and D15 dual fan coolers perform better than most water coolers and on-par with the H110i GT which sounds like a jet engine at full tilt. Not to mention the Noctua is completely silent... I own the H110i GT and my friend has the D15 dual fan. Link: http://www.guru3d.com/art..._nh_d15_review,11.html

I have seen a few people, mostly on water, report benches at 2100+. I have suspicions that it's not very reliable even when under water, there's just not enough voltage to make it stable it seems.

Yeah. Mine will bench at 2100 but crashes the driver between 10-15 minutes randomly after any bench looping or stress testing. And that's with it never getting over 38-40C on water so it's not a heat issue. These cards all seem to max out at 2088 stable. 2100 for short term benching. I've seen people post on here that they are getting 2100 or 2113 but I can almost guarantee it's not stable.

Thanks. I`ve set +1000 on the memory clock and run Heaven and Timespy without any problems . After that it crashed on the desktop and after rebooting the memory clock is 1376mhz. I guess it just needed a push

IchiTsuyoi 1080TI FE with EVGA 1080 hybrid kit slapped on, aftermarket noctua fan on radiator. Stable at +50V, +200 core, +600 Mem. Tops out at about 60C.
Debating on getting the 1080 Hybrid or waiting still...I expected preorders to be up this week I like those OC's though. I would like to be able to at least match and/or exceed the cards that are coming out. Kind of surprised at the huge 100Mhz gap for the lowest AIB card

Ekwb Block...at 1.093V, +200 core on custom curve (2.1 Ghz)...+600 memory....top out at 43c. Stable in every stress test and game(0 crashes so far). Cant seem to get higher memory overclock, any thing over 600 seem to create artifact in all the stress test. As well, cant hit higher the 2.1 Ghz, probably due to the voltage constraint. Pretty happy with these overclock, but I wish there was a way to push voltage higher since I feel like this is tickling my water cooling at best. May be in future with custom Bios. Gl and have fun everyone!

Nobody has been able to create/flash a custom vbios to pascal cards since they have been released. I don't see that changing in the future.

That is true, but one can always hope. But at least with watercooling, my clock stay stable and does not throttle due to temperature going too high. Guess just have to look at the positive :P

It is all luck of the draw with these cards. And the trick for me was custom curve for increasing gpu core. Just maxing out out voltage and adding 200 mhz to my core clock was getting me crashes. But I was able to mess with the curve and get it to work at 2.1ghz after a little bit of fooling around. Like I said in earlier post. Firestrike, heavens, valley bench were all stable. No artifact or crashes. As well, in game, no crashes so far. Gl mate with your OC.

I can hit 2100 with custom curve but only stable enough to bench. It will crash the driver within 10-15 minutes randomly. It's 100%stable at 2088 though. With zero dips on every bench or game I've ran. 36-38C max temps gaming and it hit 40 C once doing a furmark type stress test loop with EVGA OC Scanner after about 30 minutes. Can't complain. Just glad the temps are low and a very stable clockspeed. Under water of course. RX480 and UT60 rads with push/pull on both. 16 threads running at 4.6Ghz on my 5960x never breaches 55C. Overall, I'm very pleased with me setup.

There are lesser knows ways to hex edit, and flast the SOP8 chip using a programmer. But its more hassle than any would want to go through. Just waiting on the Classifieds for now, or maybe the unlocked BIOS like we had for the ASUS cards. That BIOS worked like a charm on my FTW Hybrid .

Using Afterburner, it ran without a hitch. Am i missing something here? Both are the latest versions available.

zswickliffe Higher memory clocks doesn't always mean better scores, FYI. I've pretty much only noticed a degradation.
What he is trying to point out is that if you run the GPU memory clocks too high, you start getting errors. The memory has internal error correction, but it drastically decreases the memory throughput. You've got 11ghz memory already. plus 400 is adding another 800mhz or 11.8ghz. effective.
First off let me say I am a complete noob when it comes to OC. This is my first build since 2001 and while I grasp the concept I have little experience and would love any advice and/or comments from all of you experts. That being said, I spent the evening fooling around with OCing my new Ti and I must say that I agree about the higher memory clocks... I pushed it pretty high... as high as +540 and my scores actually dropped considerably... over 1000 points on the standard test. Here's what I came up with and had very good stability... Power Limit - 120 Core Clock - +160 Memory Clock- +180 Fan- 100% It's been extremely stable. I didn't fool around with voltage at all. I am going to be adding the AIO to this as soon as I can get my hands on one. I also ran a 15 minute Furmark stress test and temps topped out around 60C. I never saw any artifacts while running these tests. I knew I went too far when 3DMark crashed. :) Here's the scores... Firestrike - 22,747 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/12194193Firestrike Extreme - 13,573 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/12194231Firestrike Ultra - 7,236 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/12194262Timespy - 9,328 http://www.3dmark.com/spy/1487368
