I am thinking of getting a single 1080 FTW and wanted to know which is best for me? I have an air cooled system and I play about once a week. ACX 3.0 is cheaper but has had issues. ICX is new technology and regular price. But with every new technology, there may be issues in the future Which should I go with? Do the ACX 3.0 cards on the market now are free of previous reported issues?

My acx 3.0 ftw's are working great but if you're trying to make up your mind, why not look at the hybrid?
Get the benefits of water cooling minus the huge investment. The one thing I would do though is to move/replace the rad fan to the motherboard and control it there.

Go with the ICX. I doubt that in the future that you'd be sitting at your PC thinking "wish I had gotten the ACX instead of the ICX". Just my opinion. :)

The 1080 is being announced in 5 days.
Also, what does the ftw have that you want so bad? Is it the rgb? If you dont care for rgb, just get a reference card. Gpu boost 3.0 will boost the clocks to the same as an ftw anyway, so save yourself a few bucks. If rgb is a must, then the ftw is the way to go.
It has been ahown in every single benchmark possible that the ftw, 10+2 phases, and higher clock speed, that the reference board can still hold up to the ftw and sometimes exceed it. The reference board was made awesome by nvidia.

I am a light gamer these days so I would prefer a plug and play GPU since I have never dealt with a hybrid. Not enough time to so research on it

Which 1080 is being announced in 5 days? I have not seen many reference cards with ACX 3.0 available. At Amazon there are some but FTW is cheaper now. At least, the ACX 3.0 ones. The ICX are there at regular prices. Don't care much about rgb. I like my two 980s reference. Good cards

Oh cool. Didn't know they were coming out this soon. If performance vs price ratio works, I may get that. But i know it will be in high demand so we ll see. Thanks

Have on of the very first FTW's and have never had an issue at all. It Folds 24/7 when not gaming on it.

I too have one of the original 1080 FTW cards, has always ran great for me. ICX may get you a little cooler temp but certainly no guarantee on any additional performance.

Oh I see. Seems the ACX would work for me since I don't play for long periods nor Oc my cards much. Only slightly.

Nvidia.com. the timer is for the release of the ti, which is why is shows as Time and when videos play, it fades and ti remains, as me disappears.

For those of you with icx, how is it compared to ACX? Still debating which to get.
