Unless something is not showing up correctly my 6GB 1060SC only has 20478MB (2 GB) of ram and not 6GB. I will, of course, be rather curious as to why this 6GB card is only showing 2 GB of ram. I should point out that Heaven reads 4025 megs when I run the benchmark. (Note while typing this that issue with the static distortion flashed across my screen. - I am growing concerned that it is indicating and imminent card failure.) EDIT: I should point out that Heaven reads 4025 megs for Ram, and under the Adapter Properties - Dedicated Video Memory, it reads 6144 MB. So the memory is there but not all software is reading it. Very interesting.

rjohnson11 Is your motherboard updated to the latest BIOs?
Hello, Yes my BIOS are up to date. I updated my board drivers and bios for my MOBO when I migrated to Windows 10. I, however, have no way of knowing what driver version the 1060 SC is using and I noticed a new BIOS update for the card itself. However, the BIOS update relates to fan speed. The memory is there, it just isn't showing up in some programs. And yes I am running the latest versions of those as well as far as I can tell. Then again they may not have yet had a chance to update for use with the new generation of Nvidia Cards. (Albeit I find that hard to believe.)

I would not trust speccy. I just down loaded it and my 8G does not show up on either of mine.

Same here...showing wrong VRAM number so I wouldn't trust speccy either. cpu-z program shows it correctly though.

I believe this is a known issue according to NVIDIA. See the release notes for for the two most recent drivers to include 372.70 on page 24. Apologies if it is not exactly relevant to your situation. Total Available Graphics Memory Reported Incorrectly Background–TAG Memory In the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM), Total Available Graphics (TAG) memory is reported as the sum of •Dedicated Video Memory (video memory dedicated for graphics use) •Dedicated System Memory (system memory dedicated for graphics use), and •Shared System Memory (system memory shared between the graphics subsystemand the CPU). The values for each of these components are computed according to WDDM guidelines when the NVIDIA Display Driver is loaded. Issue Some TAG-reporting APIs represent video memory using 32-bits instead of 64-bits, and consequently do not properly report available graphics memory when the TAG would otherwise exceed 4 gigabytes (GB). This results in under reporting of available memoryand potentially undesirable behavior of applications that rely on these APIs to report available memory. The under reporting can be extreme. For example, 6 GB might be reported as 454 MB, and 8 GB might be reported as 1259 MB. Driver Action for GeForce-based Graphics Systems On graphics systems with less than 2.75 GB of advertised physical memory, the NVIDIA display driver typically limits the Shared System Memory to maintain a TAG memory value of less than 4 GB. This results in reliable reporting of sub-4 GB TAG memory on systems with less than 2.75 GB of advertised physical memory.
On systems with 2.75 GB or more of advertized physical memory, you may see different reported TAG memory values between the NVIDIA Control Panel and other reporting APIs.
What use is knowledge if there is no understanding?~Stobaeus

As a side note, it will also sometimes report the memory from your last card. This is a relic. You can ocassionally correct this by reinstalling the previous card and then doing an actual uninstall, power down, restart with no card, power down, install new card and driver installation. A clean install of the OS generally clears this up as well as no relics should remain.

This post was from over 2 years ago. I am not sure if it is a problem anymore or if the problem was already corrected.

Yeah, did both before looking it up. Not a clue why. I might contact EVGA directly tbh
