hi, since yesterday i have the same card like u, and the same problem too. Its allready my 3rd evga gtx ti, my first was the evga gtx 780 ti sc, my 2nd evga gtx 780 ti sc / acx version and now its the classified 780 Ti. With all 3 cards i had problems(coil whine / strange noise fans, metalic sounds), but the reference modell was the best because the fans dont make strange noises. The other cards ( evga gtx 780 ti sc and classified 780 Ti ) with the acx cooling fans made both annoying metalic sounds when the fans have high rpm. thats the experience which i made with acx cooling soloution and I often read in forums about this problem. a lot of people which have evga cards with acx cooling fans have the same problem. just take a look at google and u will find a lot of guys with the same problem, i dont really think evga can help u with that problem. Since the 700 gtx series its a know problem with that bad fans but still the new Ti have the same problem... i think that says all. But that is just my opinion. Sorry for my bad english

I tend to disagree. EVGA sold you a product that should work as intended and if it's not then contact EVGA. EVGA will make it right for you.

I too have this problem with my GTX 780 Ti Classified. It's very annoying and I'm already thinking of returning the card due to it. I previously owned a GTX 780 w/ ACX and remember it having it's own share of pitch/humming noises (sold it shortly after buying it).

I built a new system this week and put the GTX 770 FTW 4gb ACX card it, and so far for me, it has been very quiet.

Cheap design. My 780 ACX made the noise. There is a thread about fixing it, but I would rather not deal with that. I won't ever trust EVGA custom cooling options again. Matter fact. I am beginning to wonder about the quality of their products in general. I've went through three 780 ti cards now. All three had horrible coil whine.

Yeah lol, same here. It is too my 3rd gtx ti from evga, all had coil whine and the 2 acx cooling soloution cards made both annoying noises. here in the forum was a guy who said : "more people are happy with acx fans then unhappy" that is just a lie, just google and look how many guys have problems with that crap cooling fans. all acx cooling can have problems( but for sure not all ) it doenst matter which graphic card it is, just the acx cooling fans are crap. And then the other problem with the classi bios.... i paid 750 euro for my card, i thought ok pay more... the people in forums say always evga is that extra money worth... blablabla for me i dont see any differnece to a cheap card manufactor (just bring a not finished product on the market which was not tested(coil whine / noisy fans/metalic sound) to make as much money as possible). allegedly have evga a good customer service maybe i pay for that extra money, so explain me somone pls how RMA works. will i got a new card before i send them my crap card? have i to pay for the transport? i live in germany

hi guys thanks for all your feeds now i write an email to support, also i gaved a look at warranty terms but i don't understand if is possible to give back the product within few days from purchase in Italy for example it works like this: you have 10 days from when you received the good, to give it back without any sort of explanation, and you will be refounded in 30dys if this is possible i will follow this road, otherwise i will go for RMA, and if is not accepted for me evga is dead it's not possible that a card ith this name makes that terrible sound

Its often pricey and frustrating to be the first adapters, that's why I wait a few months before I take the plunge into a new product. Hope these issues get fixed soon. The good news is EVGA has an amazing warranty and support that accompany their products, so don't feel too bad if any issues comes up. They take care of their customers.

^^ This exactly. EVGA's CS is top notch. I simply don't buy at the early point of a release because I hate paying that premium. As far as durability and kinks, I would never have a problem buying from EVGA.....just saying.. §

ah just a bad joke that evga, 750 euro cards with mega coil whine again and the badest cooling crap (acx fans). i will bring my card to the local shop at friday to get my money back. i have a gigabyte gtx titan here to comapre with my ti crap, and the titan does make only coil whine noise if the card produce a lot of fps like in some benchmarks but never in game where i have around 60fps or less fps. but all that evga gtx ti cards which i had (3cards) make coil whine in games like ac 4 (all maxed, wqhd display) where i have less then 50 fps, it doesnt help if use vsnc or not but i always use it. so let me think what should i think about that company from which i bought 3 gtx ti which all had loud coil whine and 2 of them mega loud noisy fans which makes metalic sound if the rpm from the fans changes...

i just want a card that dont make coil whine noises in games where i have less then 60 fps. i read a lot about coil whine and some guys says that all cards have coil whine which have high performance and when they produce a lot of fps but only then, but it would be possbile to fix that with a fps limiter or vsync. but all my my gtx ti from evga which i had make coil whine in games where i have less then 60 fps (lol), so it is not possible to fix that coil whine with vysnc or a fps limiter. and if someone wanne tell me now that maybe my psu makes that coil whine beacuse i bought at friday a new psu only for testing coil whine. i own atm 2 psu: my old one: Seasonic P-520 Platinum Modular Netzteil Fanless - 520 Watt my new one : Corsair Professional Platinum Series AX860I Netzteil - 860 Watt i can reproduce that coil whine everytime i want in ac4, but if i use my gtx titan there is no coil whine in ac4 only in benchmakrs with high fps or counter strike make when i got over 200 fps

If you are able to perhaps try reference Ti's and not ACX/Classified? I had the same problems with 2x ACX 780 and 2x 780 Classified (thought the noises would go away with new cards). Went through RMA and still the metal clicking noise (not coil whine) so I just accepted it...for a period of time...sold. I bought 2 reference style 780Ti SC cards this time and no abnormal noises or whine at all. I wouldn't say ACX is trash, far from it, my temps were great. And EVGA support has been great. I had an old Gigabyte windforce AMD 5870 and it had horrible whine, exchanged it and same problem. Over the years my experiences with reference cards have been better than with non-reference, and the trend continues with my Ti's. I'm sure many people have had problems with reference cards as well, mileage varies.

hi, normally u should be able to return the card, in europa u can return the card as long u do it in 2 weeks after u bought it. the other option would be to RMA the card to evga, u just need to cantact the evga support.

Just sounds like the fan is hitting something. Can you open the cooler and see if it is an easy fix? That might save you the hassle of an RMA.

BTW: in Europe you should buy directly @evga.com because you have 30 days, not only two weeks ;) And.. the card is too expensive, I wanna have a quiet cooler - so I don't want to put glue on it to fix it - because this could void the guarantee

I had the same noise on my first 780ti classified. It was the metallic scraping noise. Super annoying. I RMA'd it for sure. My new card doesn't have the issue. Both my cards are now super silent in SLI. Just waiting for that fixed bios so I can work on overclocking these puppies.

I recently purchased my 2nd 780 ti sc acx. After having it for about a day it has developed a nice "whine" from one of the fans. This is actually my 3rd 780 ti sc acx. The first one purchased lit up and caught fire. The 2nd one that was sent has been working amazingly and no such problems from noises and/or catching fire. I'm currently batting 1 for 3. I'm currently waiting on a 4th and hopefully it will be like the 2nd one that was delivered defect free. Time will tell.

I'm sure this will get deleted quickly, but I have owned: EVGA GTX 780 ACX ~ Fans drove me nuts Asus GTX 780 DC2 ~ Fans better, but still not where I want to be MSI GTX 780 Gaming (TF4) ~ Heaven, much quieter and cooler It's not perfect though, there's a bit of coil whine on the MSI, whereas my EVGA and Asus had very little and none. I can't hear it past 2 feet though.
