System Specs seen in my sig 2560X1600 I will say that W8.1 looks more vibrant, colorful, deeper and detailed than W7 when running the BM W7 W8.1

Call Of Pripyat BM for its multi layered DX11 elements. All Advance settings turned off. Standard settings are Ultra 2560X1600 with SLI enabled. This BM has a tendency to drop the full screen to the task bar which it did in one time in both W7 & W8.1. I believe this made the min BM go to zero thus it is not showing up. This also made the average score debunked. This is where you see the two middle BM's not have a min BM. Just look at the max BM's in the middle. The top and bottom BM's are fine for comparison. W7 W8.1

Similar performance for me. In 8.1 my Battlefield 3 experience seems smoother. Benchmarks are within the margin of error.

Gameing benchmarks real gameplay is better then somthing like ungine benchmarks but you also need to rember how your experiance will be on 8.1 vs windows 7 in a whole what i reocmmend you do OP is to run the benchmarks and or gaming while doing some other heavy task and do a Multi-tasking ALT tab scenario and such and i know 8.1 will just run smoother at heavy workloads doing = those things then windows 7 Also drivers in windows 8.1 while still new only add some new optimization only windows 8.1 offers under the hood windows 7 dont use but drivers are much the same but agian try the multi-tasking scenarios see how it works out i can tell you this even on windows 8 when it came out in the Preview builds i was able to do 2x the workload with using less resources then the same stuff on windows 7 at the time so i know windows 8.1 is vastly improved on this . even tho if gameing benchmarks are the same and tie to windows 7 guess what in just that part in itself that is a good thing not a bad thing Here is a list of just a few minor but in some way big things in windows 8.1 i like this is from another users but i agree with the user on these features some arerelated to Metro but still good It Takes Up Less Space Improved Search Better Multi-Tasking Improved Multi-Monitor Support Boot to Desktop 50/50 split screen apps Automatic App Updates 50/50 split screen apps Some other thing which may be of interest. All Live Tiles, Great and Small Start Screen Can Share Desktop Background Dynamic Lock Screen Deeper SkyDrive Integration The Only Way to Get the Facebook App Boot to Desktop

The w8 salesman showed up, lol. Pretty hard to argue numbers but you try anyway. When you are trying for good bench scores you don't load up the system with other tasks.
Imagine, it even lets you boot to desktop, lol.

Actually, with the risk of siding with notuptome2004 as I don't like W8.1 GUI without classic shell and don't like native W8.1 apps at all. W8.1 is flat out superior in graphic detail. W8.1 is flat out superior with graphic sync issues, thus no noticeable dropped frames like W7 has in the same BM's Point to W8.1 in being superior for gaming aficionados looking for the best graphic details manifested in your games. It may be time for some to figure out how to dual boot.

Gladly. So far I have been running BF4 on Windows 8.1 and it's great. I'll be back with benchmark results for both BF3 & BF4. Any prefered method or map ? I usually use Fraps, and do a 90 second run.

For BF4 I would like motion blur on 0, no AA Deferred, and AO HBAO, please. And if you have the time you could run the BF4 tests with everything else on High and then Ultra.

I get terrible performance in Win 8.1 with Valley vs Win 7. I own 2 780 TI's, and when I compare single 780 Ti benches vs others, I'm about 5 fps slower with my OC'd single Ti bench.

The reason I tried W8 was because I heard some games had a few more FPS. But what I found was that some older games like Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood have know compatibility issues with windows 8. If you can't get the game started than the FPS is a moot point. With this game the opening game sequences are upside down, letterbox format, and video options stuck on lowest resolution.

Can you do some real in game BF4 testing? I just was thinking of formatting my spare machine and going with a copy of 8.1 just to try it out. You can save me the hassle of testing it for me and i could save the time :) I've heard most people having issues with win 7 have none on win8.1

i didnt have that issue with COJ when i played it back when windows 8 first released so i am not sure what could be going on with your system but makes sure your graphics driver is updated and you have the latest Directx attributable and latest Vc files from Microsoft but as i siad the game ran fine for me cause at the time i had the hankeriung to play it
