So I just submitted an email to support but I was curious as to if anyone here had anything to contribute as well.

Basically, I have two 570 SC's, not SLI'd since I only have one PCI-e slot. They worked great until recently I started playing Sim City. The game crashes, a lot. Like maybe, once every hour. No other program has ever crashed really. Today, my whole screen went dead, and eventually popped back on with a notification that the driver had failed and recovered. Two minutes later- I got the BSOD.

After rebooting, I can get to my desktop and do non-gpu intensive things just fine, but now any time I try to play a(ny) game or even just watch a movie, the same process happens. Black screen, recovery, BSOD. Anyway. So I tried the obvious google advice- uninstalling/reinstalling the driver... to no avail. Giving up on finding any other relevant solution, I pulled out my main card and replaced it with the secondary card and everything's fine again. Does that pretty much mean something's wrong with my main card? Or could it still be software related?

Definitely willing to do some more troubleshooting as I don't want to waste time/money RMA'ing it if I don't have to, but I'm not sure what else to try.

try only the main card plugged in and also check the temps on that card if you can

The temps usually run 70-85 under load, but after this happened it won't get above 55 before crashing.

My specs are:
Mobo: Asus P7P55D
CPU: Intel i5
RAM: 2x Crucial Ballistix DDR3
PSU: Corsair TX 650W
SSD: Crucial M4
OS: Windows 7 Home 64-bit

For consistency's sake: I've had both these cards for 6months, playing stuff like Sims 3, SWTOR, and FFXIV on mostly high settings with zero issues until this problem came along. Can still do so on the one card, just not the other. I didn't think to try the problematic one by itself though, so I'll do that later after work. Thanks for the replies!

Okay, long day. So I replaced the currently operable one with the problematic one, even taking care to use the same pci power plugs, and the issue still persists.

I have the same error, I've been fixing this for 1 and 1/2 days now without sleep, doing all possible stuff and no to avail
I have GTX 570SC
It was doing great until that 314.22 Update came up.
I installed it and it give me nvlddmkm error.
so I reverted it back to old driver and it gives me Bluescreen at windows startup (*after the keyboard check, led up numlock, capslock, scroll lock)

I run into safe mode and I got into it without a problem, Tried to uninstall the driver and boot to normal mode,
I also got in, but everytime I install NVIDIA driver, NOW regardless of version, it always gives me bluescreen error at windows startup saying error from nvlddmkm.sys

I tried ff
EXPAND.EXE solution = fail
Reformart PC (clean start) = fail
use driver from CD package = fail
turn off link power management from power control = fail

I'm so desperate now. I don't know what to do anymore.
please help

SPEC:
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
EVGA GTX570 SC
TRIED DRIVER VERSIONS : [263.09], [295.73], [296.10], [314.22]

Okay one mistake I think I made taht contribute to this problem is that I didnt revert back to default the precision setting before updating the driver, i dont know if that really is the cause. Im certain that the problem gone to the card itself because logically a pure clean formating and installing of windows followed by default driver would solve it. many have tried replacing with other GPU(non nvidia) and still work ok so the problem wasnt in chipset.

thinking of giving up this card :( it work real well for me for the past 2 years until this happen. But i cant leave this unravelled so please help me with my final attempt..

to updating the bios of the gpu. I have high hope that this last one will solve this problem.
so please help

Might be time for RMA, I had my share of problems with the 570 cards too

2 RMA's was for no screen at post
1 RMA was for random black screen crashes while playing games. (not the driver reset type, it just stayed at black screen until I reset the system)

Hmm. Well given that another of the same model works I'm pretty much resolved to it being a short in the card. Thanks for the input~

I'll do RMA too, theres no point in trying to solve this problem. it can't be solve.
I bought it on feb 2011 so its just 2 years from now, I thought it was 3 years..

The only thing I'm afraid of is, if this bug sticks to other nvidia GPU, then my motherboard is over...

What the heck, I haven't even gotten a response about my support ticket and you already got an approved RMA? Weird. Another weird thing is I DID get an email to rate customer service... service which I have not received yet lolol

on the topic, I think I have pin point the problem. I think its the memory of the GPU. I use some G-somthing software to scan the gpu, it give every details except the Memory and the Hertz of the GPU. figured the memory is malfunctioning. And we cant do anything to fix it though, openning it will void the warranty

Apparently I just never got the initial response for some reason. Of course support is having me reinstall the drivers and update the firmware... Didn't fix nor improve it though.

Just an update if anyone was curious.

Just an update, I'm still using my GTX570SC and still working, but sometimes the driver crashes which is fine, I received it from RMA like 2 years ago (working for 3 years before RMA) so a total of 5 years on service now. I will retire this card and put it to rest once I saved enough money to buy the latest GPU. I'm satisfied.
