Need a bit of help with it. I am trying to take the EVGA logo from photoshop to Cinema however every time  I Select the text and select make a work path and open it in Cinema the Logo is all choppy and not smooth. I did make it smooth about 6 months ago but I have the dur ta dur brain right now and can't remember.

When the text is all choppy making it 3d isn't very easy lol. Anyone know of a way to take the EVGA text logo and put in in Cinema without it being choppy

First off you will need a good rez picture, Or it will be crap when you blow it up or zoom in.

2nd how are you using the picture to make an opject? As a texture or are you using it to remove material?

Here are some examples of how I did it. I just used boxes and gave them more sides then bent them using deform tools.

maybe a screenshot of where ur at now as im a little confused

once you have the evga logo in photoshop you will need to make it a vector object. this can be done by using the pen tool and tracing the logo (this should provide smoothest results) or you find a black and white logo and select the text with the magic wand tool, right click, and hit refine edge. theres several options to make the selection smooth. After that hit make work path and you can export paths to illustrator and they will be openable in c4d. If u still need help i have a logo ready in c4d that i can upload for u.

Send me that logo, I want to see your method of doing it. Always fun to learn new things.

yea see I have the logo now but when I make the work paths and upload it to C4D it comes out choppy lol but I will try the refine edges deal.

alright i did it the smooth vector way for you, but refine edges or doing a bigger feather, say 1.1, when converting to work paths should fix your problem. ur tolerance when using the magic wand should be high and anti-alias should be on also, that'll make a smoother selection.

you'll goto file>export>paths to illustrator then open the illy file in c4d
also, not sure y, but path 3 and 7 in c4d are the same in mine
