As soon as i install nvidias drivers my screen goes black, the screen loses signal. when i restart it goes black as soon as the system loads windows 10.
It works in my old computer with the same nvidia drivers, so i can't really see the card being faulty either.
Old graphic card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 WindForce 3X OC 4GB in new computer works with no problems with same drivers.
I've changed in uefi to pci-e only and to gen 3, can't find anymore setting for graphicards.
My screen is a Philips 27" LED 273E3LHSB and i use a dvi connector
Brand new computer:
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB ACX 3.0 SC
Samsung 850-Series EVO 500GB
Corsair RM750x 750W
Kingston HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4n 2133MHz CL14
ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING

is there some settings that i have missed? i'm quite at a loss here and would really appreciate some help

Can you manage to boot into safe mode?  Which driver did you install?  There were a lot of problems with a couple of the previous drivers and W10.

EDIT:  Which build of W10 are you on?

I've tried getting into safemode, it just won't come up. Put in the win10 disk and went into advanced setting where safe mode should be but nope.
tried  372.54 and 368.39 the oldest i could find on nvidias homepage.

You are getting the no signal to monitor displayed and then it turns off?  Or are you still able to see the cursor on the black screen when you move the mouse?

You have an iGPU, yes?  Can you plug into that on the motherboard and boot in?

And I assume you meant you went through the following for Safe Mode...

Start your PC in Safe Mode using installation media:
  • On a working PC, go to the Microsoft software download website and create Windows 10 installation media.
  • Insert the installation media you created, and then restart your PC.
  • On the Install Windows screen, select Repair your computer. (If you’re not seeing this screen, your PC might not be set up to boot from a drive. Check your PC manufacturer's website for info on how to boot from media, and then try again.)
  • On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot. From there, you can use Safe Mode. Select Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  • After your PC restarts, select 5 or F5 to restart you PC in Safe Mode with Networking. If your PC won’t start in Safe Mode with Networking, try steps 2-4 again, and then, after your PC restarts, select 3 or F3 to Enable low-resolution video.
  • Once your PC is in Safe Mode, open Device Manager by typing device manager in the search box on the taskbar, select Device Manager, and select the arrow to expand Display adapters.
    1. If you see two items under Display adapters:
      1. Right-click the added display adapter (for example, Intel HD 4000 or AMD Radeon HD 4200), and then select Disable > Yes. To see if that worked, shut down your PC, disconnect your installation media, and then turn your PC back on.
      2. If that doesn’t work, restart your PC in Safe Mode (see steps 2-5), return to the Display adapter section in Device Manager, enable the display adapter, and then disable the other display adapter.
    2. If you see one item under Display adapters, roll back the driver or uninstall the display adapter.
      1. To roll back the driver, open Device Manager and select the arrow to expand Display adapters. Under Display adapters, right-click the item and select Properties. Select the Driver tab, and then select Roll Back Driver > Yes.
      2. To uninstall the display adapter, open Device Manager and select the arrow to expand Display adapters. Under Display adapters, right-click the item and select Properties. Select the Driver tab, select Uninstall > OK.
  • Shut down your PC, disconnect your installation media, and then turn your PC back on.

Is your BIOS set to automatic for selection of the VGA or is set to PCIe or Onboard?  I assume it is set to automatic since the iGPU and 750 work.  We had issues at work where we had to disable the iGPU because it thought there were two screens when both were enabled.  No idea why.  We only figured that out because we could do an extend screen blindly and it suddenly worked.  On another we were able to unplug the monitor and plug it back in and it started working after that.

Do you have Precision OC installed?

Before you do anything else, I would recommend that you load up with one of the other outputs and then remove any OC software and then clean all the drivers with DDU.  This guide is helpful:  http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2504606

You can use a registry cleaner like CCleaner to be certain everything is wiped after that.  Some don't like it because they can be aggressive, but a registry error could be your problem.  Afterwards, install only the driver and no OC software and see if it works.

Some have had an issue with Fast Boot and never pinned down why exactly.  You change that through Control panel -->Power Options, --> Choose What the Power Buttons --> Change Settings That are Currently Unavailable --> uncheck Fast Startup.  Power down, unplug the PSU for about 1 minute, plug back in and restart.

If none of that works, we'll have to wait for someone else to jump in.

Let us know in about 20 minutes!

I've tried both in the uefi/bios pci-e only and auto, nothing else is tweaked or installed, it's a clean install i've even formatted between trying different nvidiaversions.

    Hi,

Can you please confirm if it is the same monitor that you are testing with on the old computer?   Can you possibly try the other monitor with your new computer if it is different?

Also are both computer plugged into the same power source?  Maybe you could try moving the computer to a different power plug and see if it is receiving the power that it needs to initialize the card?

i have 2 monitors of the same model, i have tried both.
My old computer still ran win7 so i upgraded it to win10 to see if it still worked, it didnt and its a 1060w in that one :/
that seems to suggest its win10 or nvidiadrivers that's failing.
I'm at such a loss here been scouring different forums for different solutions and nothing works.
maybe i should bring this problem to nvidias forums, theyve had a few of these but none of their solutions worked, ie older drivers, updating win 10, etc

this is bumming me out i'm going to bed, thanks for all your help so far though

    Hi,

Can you confirm if you have installed the Windows updates?   Also please make sure that you only have a single monitor connected and try pushing the source button on the monitor to see if it is on the correct input.

If you should continue to have the problem, maybe you can try a different cable or monitor port?

yeah i updated it trough  and it still doesn't work, i went and bought a new dvi and hdmicable, with dvi it was the same but the hdmiport didn't work at all, no signal even at uefi so the hdmiport seems dead. i tried checking for source on the monitor aswell it's wasn't that.
This must be a faulty card, a really strange fault i reckon but faulty nonetheless. I'll contact my resaler.
Thanks for all your help, I'll continue monitor this thread if you can think of anything else.

Best of luck on the exchange/return or RMA if you end up doing that.

I've seen this before, it's definitely a faulty card.
