Not intending to be rude, but I'm wondering if we can move these posts about overclocking to the overclocking forum, and keep this thread to the intended topic (stability club applications). Are individual posts able to be moved?

It is rude!  J/k
But yeah you are right Crushed probably needs a thread of his own to discuss his overclock.

so far with my H70 I have not been able to go past 4.0ghz with ram at 2020mhz.  I have had 4.8ghz stable with my other full watercooling but the H70 just cannot hang.

Reason for the H70 is due to a pending deployment.

I need to give it a go for 4.2.  I haven't overclocked much but I would like to give it a try.

What causes my gflops to be lower with a higher clock speed?  I just passed LinX with a clock speed of 4.3708 but my gflops fell to 79.9863.

jlee, I had the same thing happen to me, raised CPU PLL and QPI PLL to 2 and 1.3 and it fixed, and it allowed me to reduce my Vcore; my temps were lower after that too. Funny thing though, the LinX scores did not improve until I raised both CPU PLL and QPI PLL. But I have a 920.

Quattro, I believe you do not have the latest binary. Your GFLOPS are too low. See the 1st post of this thread.

Yea i myself need to invest in a full liquid system but that wont be happening for a while since the wife got diagnosed with MS today so money will be tight while i pay for gas and medical bills to go to her specialist 150 miles away 2 times a week.

But grats on the OC. looks like you got a voltage hungry CPU Like mine.

the wife got diagnosed with MS today

OMG, that sux. That's terrible. My sympathies to you and your family. Is that genetic? High risk for children getting it?

Ya its genetic and yes high risks of my son getting it so I have to keep an eye out for the signs of it.

I just started to overclock my i7 950 and i have a stable 4.21 speed at a 1.3V Vcore, and have seen others do the same. Should lower your temps.

Rixter i would love to see your template for 1.3 Vcore can you pm it to me maybe a SS of 20 passes of linx?  Just curious how you hit 4.2 with 1.3  unless you have HT off lowest ive heard a 950 hitting 4.2 with HT is 1.32ish.

Hey Kram,

Just thought I'd update my score now that I'm on water. But I gotta say compared to others, it looks like I have a major Vcore hog on my hands. Oh well, SB-E is close enough that I think I can live with this 970 until then.

it looks like I have a major Vcore hog on my hands.

Some ppls keep adding Vcore when in fact if they added a bit more CPU PLL and QPI PLL they would end up with much lower Vcore. Did you try that?
