I am currently using BIOS 44 for my EVGA X58 SLI E758, and I am not impressed. Anyone have suggestions for the an alternative BOIS verison? Which would you consider the best (most stable / least quirky)?

I'm currently using the SZ2Z bios.

After trying the 43 & 44 bios, I found with both my overclock wasnt stable with those bios's, however going back to any of the previous ones, I was rock solid with 20x LinX passes.

My overclock was stable on all Bios's SZ2Z and prior, just the new ones have been no good for me.

Sz2Z It's one of the last (latest) good ones.

    Main (gaming) rig: i7-3930K; Asus Rampage IV Extreme; H100 W/p-p Excaliburs, AS5; MSI 7870 2GD5/OC; Crucial M4 SSD 256GB.
See my primary ModsRigs: Adam for the rest, and I have a second (wife's) rig Asus Rampage III Extreme & 960: Eve.

I am running SZ27. It is an old release, but I found it to yield the most stable overclock with my C0 920 CPU. Every other BIOS release required upping the voltage while maxing out at 3.6Ghz. This might be so because I have a weak processor. You will have to experiment with few BIOS releases to see which ones work best with your hardware.

I am also running the older SZ27 bios, for my particular setup of parts it's been the best for me.

Thanks for all the advice. I will give SZ2Z a try, and work my way back if I have any issues.

Is it still the opinion of the community that Sz2Z is the best for this motherboard?

For my E758 with a 920, I have tried a variety of newer BIOS versions including 44 and 73 but ran into intermittent system crashes. I keep the system loaded 24/7 and running Linux and generally between 24-48 hours I would see a crash. I am back on SZ2S and the system has running stable for the past two weeks or so.

Back when my 758 board was up and running, I really liked the SZ2Z bios with my I7 920 cpu.

I am using 49, shows as SZ50. Super stable and VT double pump is not there. Note that on some boards it disabled VT for good. So, make sure that is not an issue for you.

I vote for SZ2Z. I had constant cold boot issues with the new bios until i downgraded to SZ2Z. Give them a try.
