Corsair HX1050 at a minimum but if you are into extreme overclocking then an AX1200 but it is not cheap. You can't skimp on your components if you want an extreme overclocking rig.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

What brand/model, and how old, is your 1000 watt unit?

Gigabyte Z590 Vision G Mobo, intel i3 10105 CPU, 32GB GSkill Ripjaws DDR4 3200 RAM, EVGA GTX 750ti FTW Video Card, EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 power supply, Fractal Design Focus G (White) case, Cooler Master Hyper212 RGB Black CPU cooler. 2 Dell LED Monitors (20" & 24"), SK Hynix Gold 1TB SATA SSD (OS Drive), 6 WD HDDs 13TB total (Storage).
Rig is a partial update on the old Gigabyte P43/Q6600 OC rig... The WD HDD's, (13TB, total), Blu-ray & DVD burners,  GTX750ti FTW & Supernova 850 G2 psu, migrated from old setup... Will get an 11700K, and an RTX 3060 12GB Black card, when I'm ready to OC... Windows 11 Pro set for performance, and it runs at 4.2Ghz...
    Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experience Wheel/Pedals,
Built for Gaming, Video Production, and Cakewalk, Cubase DAWs...

I recommend the Seasonic X-1250, highly. If not that, then wait to see how the EVGA NEX 1500 reviews...particularly the review from jonnyguru.com. If it's as good as it seems it will be, go for that one.

EDIT: if you already have a 1000W unit - run it all on that first before buying...I doubt you will have issues. Kepler is very power efficient.

Since 12v is what your CPU and GPU's will draw from and are the majority of your computer's needs, if you add up their amps, you have exactly what minimum your require.  Don't focus on finding a wattage number because many similar wattage PSUs can have different amp ratings.

    For example:
    • A Core i7-980X draws 136W (newer 32nm 6-cores won't be that different).
    • A Core i7-2600K draws 93W (scale 2500K and 2700K by frequency as needed).
    • A Core i7-3770K draws 80W (14W less than 2600K at full load).
    • nVidia lists the board power of GTX690 as 300W.
    • Your drives and fans have labels with their 12v needs, read them yourself.
Without the drives and fans, you need a PSU with between 57A - 62A from 12v alone, depending which CPU used.  The wattage rating on the power supply unit package itself is almost meaningless without looking into the amperage.

You can pick a higher wattage/amperage unit if you want, just don't do it because less makes you feel uncomfortable.  Make logic decisions, no emotional ones.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

I don't think 690 and budget shouldn't be used in the same line especially when duel 690 is mentioned.

And especially if dual 690s were mentioned.  Now that would just be ridiculous.

Is it just me, or did he not specify anything about being on a small budget (to everyone LOL'ing)? A budget doesn't mean you don't have much money for something, it just means you have an allotted amount and are working within it. His budget clearly allows for 2 690's.

Hey... I just bought a Ferrari, anyone know where I can get some cheap gas? I'm on a budget.

$2000 bucks worth of GPU's should not be fed by a "budgeted" PSU.
