Seems all of the cards will have pre-installed back plates..........UGH!  How about supplying screws that will accommodate those of us who don't like or need the plates?

Used to be a lot of people would complain that the card didn't come with a backplate, now complaints that it's included. LOL. Life is funny.

I actually hate having the backplate pre installed because they have that sticker on top that is always crooked and drives my OCD over 9000.

I've experimented with different coolers and with plates on and off. Mine runs a little cooler with no back plate.

LOL everyone always complained about paying X number of dollars and not getting a back plate. Now they have listened to the people and not everyone is happy.

I for one am happy because this means the back plate can stay on for RMAs, and I know my replacement card will have a back plate.

You would think so... but actually usually no. The backplates seem to create an insulating layer of air betwen the back of the printed circuit board and the backplate which actually increases temperatures.

I've never tested it both ways, but I assumed backplates help dissipate heat although I'm sure results may vary depending on airflow in the case. No airflow over the top of the card may very well cause it to simply be an insulating layer.
