Hello i dont know if all 970 gtx cards have that Problem but i bought a 970 gtx sc acx 2.0 and i now have lower Fps in Cs:Go as with my old 660 Gtx, so there is my Question, is there any Fix out for that? with 660Gtx i had around 260- 300 fps and with the 970 i only got 160 with some frame drops, new driver is installed.

My System

i5 3570k
8 GB Ram
a SSD
970 GTX
Seasonic S2 520 Watts

Dont say i dont need more Fps because i got a 144hz Monitor and its anoying when it starts lagging

thanks for help

This is probably why it's running lower FPS.

CSGO doesn't use much vram at all.

Doodle, what is your setting in game for video? I found with mine, the lower the setting the worse the performance. Do you have everything set to max?

Monitor your game play with gpuz running in the background. After a full round, check gpuz and set the vram to Max and see what max reported is.

You aren't limiting it, just checking to make sure it isn't the issue linked by Sajin above.

This will also allow to to check boost clocks and all other functionality of the card to make sure your card is working well.

you should redo your drivers.  First, completely remove them using control panel, then update them to 347.25 at least.  Once you are setting the drivers select Custom, uncheck 3d, audio GFE or anything you don't need. Do not do the standard install.  I think it may just be a driver issue.

Does your card stay boosted to 144hz for the refresh rate at all times, or does it downclock at idle on the desktop?

Running my cards at max everything, on a 20 man map with explosions constantly, I never once used over 1027mb of memory, so it isn't a memory issue at all.

This is probably related to a driver issue, there are tons of people complaining about this very issue over at the geforce forums. https://www.google.com/we...ter+Strike&start=0

doodlez123,

Does your FPS improve when you downclock the card as far as it can go on both the core & memory? Use msi afterburner to downclock the card.

The gtx970 is significantly faster than the gtx660.  As others have mentioned, its either a driver or related software issue.  Sometimes the games are better optimized for older hardware.  Still, you're at 160fps.......you won't notice any difference until you get down around ~60fps.  If you really want to see how much better the 970 is, download Heaven benchmark and run both.  That way you can check to see if your particular GPU is faulty in some way.

It's close yes. SC its about right so over-all the card isn't the issue but perhaps the games in question are.

Uploading my results with a FTW model for comparison.

Also.. try repairing whatever game is having issues.
