What is this I am seeing? A civilized debate in a thread about different views? Holy crap!

Probably because it's RJ's thread. Anyone gets out of line in his thread... well you know what I mean.

Somehow I doubt that's the reason.

Just to play devil's advocate, for a span of time Microsoft was "pre-loading" 10 on systems. In marketing speak, that could be defined as an installation.

That's too bad because i believe Windows 10 is just as good as Windows 7 if not better

It's like RJ never said anything, and was just dragged into the conversation. LOL.

Still like my Win7Pro 64 - it works.

I did change my new 8.1 Pro 64b to Win 10 Pro 64b - so far it is better than 8.1 - still a learning curve (lost productivity) as MS moved everything.

At least in Pro, I control the updates.

I just wish MS would learn to add a legacy interface to their "new & improved" software.

Mostly I hate that 8.1 & 10 Hide everything that I know where to find it in 7 - "Thanks Bill"

Every time my Corp. "upgrades" office - productivity comes to a grinding halt.

Office "knows what you need" and does not show unnecessary commands -Right.

Besides hiding everything allows MS software programmers a chance to sell a new book.

I'll use 10 for DX12 games (if there will be any good games that is?) and 7 until official support from Microsoft is dropped.

Windows 10 64-bit. Maximus 8 Hero. i5-6600k @3.5-3.9GHz. 2X4GB 2133MHz. SSD. NVIDIA GTX 1080 FE. G-SYNC 1920x1080 144Hz. Scarlett 2i2. HX 1000i.

Yep. I known people that tryed Windows 10. After a week, they reverted to windows 7. I think that their "intalls" count for Microsoft, but their "unistalls" not, lol.

These are the same people who held onto windows XP and only switched to W7 after its 2nd service pack b/c they are upset by change.

I have windows 10 on two computers.
One copy of pro on my gaming pc.
One copy one my Work Computer (ThinkPad W540) that I use to program and too manage networks.

There is nothing wrong with W10.
I haven't even seen anything "Auto" update itself yet. And who cares if you cant steal music, movies, and games. Get a job.
Don't even try to bring up the bumpy start that NVIDIA had with its trash drivers.

The new features are awesome and the new and familiar interface are refreshing. Have fun with DX11.
