Hello,

I am new here so I apologize if this has already been posted before but I searched the first couple of pages and could not find anything.
So my question is, will there be a Hybrid Kit for the FTW eventually and if so when? I am enjoying my FTW quite a bit, I can manage to get it stable at 2152-2164Mhz but to do that I have to be running 100% fan speed which can get really loud, and I am looking into dropping these temps and noise quite a bit.

Sorry again if this has already been asked.

    FTW Model with Hybrid Installed

I am well aware that that Hybrid Kit exists, but that one only fits the reference PCB, as I am also aware that a Hybrid has been fit on a FTW PCB and being sold as a whole card, which I am of course not going to purchase as I already have a FTW.

My question was if there will be a separete Hybrid Kit that we can buy to switch out the FTW cooler.

He absolutely said on Twitter that there will be a kit for the FTW.  As noted, he didn't give any prospective date.

If it is anything like the wait for the actual hybrid then I say ~2-3months out

Hopefully not.  Since they have already released the Hybrid, now it would just be a matter of having the inventory to release just the kit.

Not sure about that. I still didn't receive my preorder. Not sure what is going on, but somehow things slowed down at EVGA.

You haven't received your pre-order yet for the 1080 Hybrid? I ordered one when they became available briefly 2 days ago and mine shipped late that night / yesterday. That's not right?

As long as I can get the Hybrid Kit in Europe by christmas I am happy xD Will be a nice present together with 3 (or 4?) Noctua Fans to replace all my radiator fans - even more silence incoming xD 4 months left, hurry up xD

P.S. Great clock speeds, I can only achieve stable 2012-2063 at 72% Fan speed. I would be very happy when I get to 2100 at low noise levels with the Hybrid Kit.

I'm just hoping the FTW version comes with a 140mm radiator. After all the FTW already has a larger PCB and cooler combo. Although if 120mm, I can put my industrial Noctua fans on it. Lol.

A 140mm Edition would indeed be very very cool - but I doubt it:/ I think I'll maybe get 2 ML120s instead of the Noctus I planned for it after reading some Reviews :>

Out of curiosity, what's the attraction of the hybrids? Are you guys with the hybrids using them with systems that are otherwise air cooled? I can see it being simpler than going for a full-on water loop, but with extendable AIO loops like the Swiftech or other kits by EK and others, it's pretty simple these days to just go full-on water for the whole system.

Does water cooling the memory and VRM components in addition to the gpu really add much performance stability or headroom as compared to water cooling only the gpu and letting the memory and VRM be cooled by air? Are you hybrid guys getting 50% of the benefit of full-on watercooling, or is more like 80 or 90% of the benefit? I'm curious.

For my next build I will definitely be going full water, I just want the Hybrid kit now as I just want this 1080 under water, and I dont want to be fitting a full loop in this system at this time.

A custom loop is more of a PITA than a pre-built system. A custom loop can also cost more to start and I'd think separate loops would have better cooling potential. And multiple 420 radiators and a pump powerfull enough for that would cost way more than a few AIO setups.

I'm not convinced that multiple separate loops would have more cooling potential than a single loop including the same radiators/fans. If so, it would be because you had more than one pump, increasing the total water flow through the radiators. What's more likely with multiple loops is that one of them has less of a load on it, and has lower water temperatures, in effect "wasting" some of its cooling potential as compared to the other loop.
