I can't wait to order a couple 1080s. I did read on Engadgets review that a single 1080 GTX smokes 980 GTX Sli. WOOOHOOOO now that's power baby!

WOW, you must be really rich! Can you give me one of them so I would have high end chip too? Pretty please!  I can't afford high end chip like you.

Sorry, I don't give out my cards for free. Just wait until the actual high end chips come out and buy new card then.

Oh, how about I pay $250 for each of your Titan X ($1000 total)?  If you sell me one, I'd pay you $350; Two for $600; Three for $800?
Also, it looks like your new 1080Ti/Titan might be using low end chip (GP102) too, but you would be paying a lot more:  Source.

Then again, that may be the smoke from a 1080 in the hands of an overly aggressive overclocker...

From wccftech... "It is worth pointing out that there have been no confirmed reports or leaks regarding this particular chip. No Zauba entries, no die shots yet. But I have heard enough from sources familiar with these matters to say with a reasonable amount of certainty that the core exists. Not to mention that it makes a lot of sense once you delve into it.  This will be the core that will be present in not only the new TITAN card but the GTX 1080 Ti as well. Notice the fact however, that this post is tagged as an editorial, so everything mentioned here is based upon my personal insights as opposed to established facts (and therefore have a non-zero probability of being off the mark)"

I could buy some newer 1080's if I wanted, but to be honest they're not worth my time at this moment.

So could I. But claiming they are a 'rip-off' seems a bit over the top. That link was from an article you used BTW.

Absolutely to me. The word seems, is there for a reason. Though I personally don't see how a GPU that outperforms a TITAN X for less, is a rip off. I'd more likely agree with you if it was the OG TITAN versus the GTX 780Ti.

After awhile reading the same complaint in multiple threads gets boring. Even popcorn doesn't help.

Yes, you claimed it was a 'low end chip' despite being superior to what you have now which is supposedly the top end, right? So IMO you calling it a 'rip-off' seems a bit silly. Perhaps you have some other metric you use to quantify your opinion. In any case, it's a waste of time.

Titan X is a high end card from a older generation. Just because titan x gets beat by a newer generation low end chip does not automatically make it a lower end chip than what the 1080 is.

You must be one of the Titan X owners. You're LOL but we all know you're deeply hurting inside =)
Yes, I will enjoy my low end chip 1070 chip that is close to, and faster than your $1,000 chip.

Fixed that for ya.

Even though I don't plan on getting any initial GTX 1080's on Friday, I'm still glad I sold my 4 GM200 Titan X HC's last November when I could get a good price for them.

Instead of going back and forth on what's a ripoff or not, how about we just buy what we want and play some games? I think that sounds more pleasant.

Seriously, in the world of high end computers if you wait for the 'latest and greatest' you'll never buy anything. Something is always going to come along and trump what you currently own.

I steered clear of the Titan X myself, but for serious overclockers it made sense at the time.

Is the 1080 FE a ripoff? Yes and no. It's worth what the market says it's worth, and we all know they'll sell out immediately. Compared to what we assume is coming though, it's not a particularly good deal for a gtx 1080.

My $0.02, since nobody asked.

You must be one of the Titan X owners. You're LOL but we all know you're deeply hurting inside =)
Yes, I will enjoy my low end chip 1070 chip that is close to, and faster than your $1,000 chip.

Fixed that for ya.

Those Titan X tears flooding this thread...

so much tears....

Well my frys order didn't fall though now back at square one. Why not release now so we can have them tomorrow.

ditto. my order for 2 now shows backorder status. I'm ok with that. I was half-way thinking about cancelling it anyway. I was trying to remember who told us about Fry's taking pre-orders so I could check with you.
