What does the MCU stand for in nvidia inspector?

I've been wondering what this information stands for, could not find anything about it from google.

    I believe it stands for MicroControler Unit - it's often seen handling some communications in USB TV boxes: http://www.nvidia.com/page/uli_m9207.html

    Oh wait, is this what you're referring to?
     

     
    Then in that case, MCU stands for Memory Controller Unit, and is meant to show how much load is being placed on the video card's memory.

    Oh ok, so if we have a have a game running at 1.5Gb on the VRAM so thats like 99-100% usage?

    Correct, if an application is using almost all of the 1.5GB of your gtx580's memory it should show 99-100% next to  MCU

    actually you are only half right about that.
     
    EVGA NV-Z 0.4.10 show a value for MCU load and below it a value for memory load.
