What do you think of Noctua NT=H1 Thermal compound as I just order a tube
I have a Tube that's a few years old and wondering the shelf life also

    It will be fine.

unless your using liquid metal on a delidded die, TIM makes little difference.

TIM application matters more than the type of TIM. Do it correctly and you'll be fine. I personally use Shin Etsu and MX-4. Works very well for me!

NT-H1 is a very good TIM. So to are IC Diamond(my fav), Indigo Extreme(expensive and you could get some gray hairs just by the re-flow process but cools like a boss in low ambient), Liquid Ultra but it is a bit hard to clean after a year of use.

The Noctua is a solid TIM, I tried Nano7 on my last build, and it works quite well (4930K).

NT-H1 is what I went with , I still have some left from my d 14 also .
I found a tube of MX 4 and have a tube of gel lid from my evo block I bought
Im more than likely to use the NT-H1 on my GPU 's also

You should go with MX-4 , I bought a big tube 2 years back and im still using it on all re-tim purposes , it does really good .
Its very easy to clean too.
