Ever since I purchased the card about a moth ago, I have been getting stuttering in some of my most played games. It is worst in Rainbow Six Siege, stuttering ever few seconds, making my FPS feel like it's in the 10s. Also in some games my GPU's utilization is only 10-15%, and I can't seen to increase it. I have done extensive research and have found nothing that fixes any of my problems. The final straw was Nvdia's latest driver hotfix to correct stuttering in games. The patch did not work for me. I have posted on the steam forums and have no gotten a fix, however, someone said that they had a very similar system (GTX 1080 SC Gaming, Intel 6700k) and did not get stuttering. This leads me to wonder if my graphics card is defective in some manner. Still, my Firestrike and Time Spy scores are up there with the rest of them. I have set a custom fan curve and checked for thermal throttling unsing MSi afterburner, neither of those occur. My temps are in the 60s. If anyone has a suggested fix, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, do I need to request a new card through EVGA, or through the manufacturer of my computer, Cyberpowerpc? The whole system was custom built about one month ago.
Specs:
Intel 6800k
EVGA GTX 1080 SC Gaming
Gigabyte X99 SLI motherboard
Deepcool Captain 360 CPU Liquid Cooler
EVGA 850 GQ power supply
16GB Corsair Vengeance 3000Mhz RAM
Corsair 850D Airflow Edition case.

Firestrike/Time Spy Scores: (links don't work)
Firestrike:
19023
18870

Time Spy:
 7464
 6953

Would appreciate a fix or a recommendation for my next step greatly.

    Welcome to the Forum Phoenix864

Are you Overclocking to High on the CPU and or on the GPU?
Set the MB Bios to the Default or Optimized Settings and do not overclock the CPU OR the GPU and re-test.
Is your MB Bios Up to Date?
    What OS?
    What Monitor are you using?
Have you tested with different DP or DVI or HDMI Cables, what cable are you using?
Have you posted this same issue on the Gigabyte's Support Forum?

You can post your scores like this /spy/109828 and /fs/9394581 we can post the lead http
This way we can see what you systems is set to.

Lightly overclocking on both the GPU and CPU, removed overclocking on the GPU and still had issues. However, I will follow your steps to be through. I will check about the MB BIOS, and the operation system is Win 10 64-bit. I have not posted on Gigabyte support forums.
    Thanks for the prompt answer!

#5 Getting low fps/low gpu utilization inside your games? Here is the solution to low fps/low gpu utilization if you ever optimized your games with geforce experience...
    • Uninstall geforce experience from your computer.
    • Reboot pc.
    • Delete game config file from main install directory. Deleting the game config file from the main directory will force the game to rebuild a new config file on next game start which should reset all your graphics settings back to default settings for you to adjust manually.
    • Config graphics settings manually.
    • Should be good to go now.

CPU should not be overheating, last time I remember checking in-game I was 50-60c. I did optimize GFE, will check that link.
    Thanks!

MSI Afterburner: all settings default. GFE uninstalled and rebooted. Set to load optimized defaults in BIOS. Missed these questions earlier: monitor is a Dell S2716DG and I have tested with a HDMI and DisplayPort cable.
Anything else to do before trying to game again? Thanks.

Stuttering in games has significanly decreased, thanks for all the tips! One final thing, I previously did some overclocking with EVGA OC Scaner X, and after letting it automatically find the best voltage curve it crashed my computer by freezing the screen. Then after rebooting, I began doing normal things again, however it automatically started again and crashed the computer again, in the same meathod. Could this have possably damaged my card?

Sorry to be back, but my stuttering has come back, and I have not found a fix.
I have heard that have 2 different audio drivers installed can cause issues, but wanted to get a second option before uninstalling one. (MB or Nvida)
Reinstalled GPU drivers, all other driver up to date. Reinstalled MSI Afterburner. GFE is totally uninstalled.
    Any tips much appreciated.

You shouldn't have the nvidia hd audio drivers installed at all. Remove the nvidia hd audio drivers and perform #1 listed here to see if it helps fix the stuttering. Also make sure windows power options are set to high performance. Change the power management mode inside the nvidia control panel to prefer maximum performance too, reboot pc afterwards and retest.

Yep. If you don't see any hd audio drivers listed under uninstall a program inside the windows control panel then the hd audio drivers shouldn't be installed.

HD audio drivers uninstalled via device manager, and clean boot (no non-Microsoft services) enabled at start up. High performance power plan is enabled, and prefer maximum performance is selected in the Nivida control panel. Not gaming again this evening, but I will test tomorrow morning. By the way, in my MB's BIOS everything is set to load optimized defaults. Would it be alright to set my memory profile from default to an XMP?
    Thanks.

Found something for Nivida HD audio under audio in device manager. This is the right one, right?
    Thanks.

Yep. If you don't see any hd audio drivers listed under uninstall a program inside the windows control panel then the hd audio drivers shouldn't be installed.

Under audio, it lists that audio is played through my Dell S2716DG, as my headphones are plugged into it. However, it also say in parentheses (Nivida High Definition Audio.) Does this mean I still have those drivers installed? Nothing is under control panel for Nivida HD audio.
    Thanks.

I'm following this thread.  I am supposed to receive my 1080 SC today, so I will be on the look out for this behavior.  I do not have GFE, and never install the Nvidia HD Audio drivers.  I'll let you all know if I have similar behavior tonight.  Although I don't have the game you mentioned.  I play mostly Fallout 4.
