Disabling the driver would just be to rule out anything else, same with using onboard. Based on what you said you're experiencing the exact same thing I had.
 
F10 had some updates that were for your proc. specifically. I would give that a go. I used easybios for F10 - F11b, I didn't when I went from F9-F10. I can send you my BIOS profile if you'd like to test with it. Let me know.
 
 Also, are you using HDMI/DisplayPort? or just regular old DVI?

Ok I have installed the BIOS update and I think that might have just fixed it. I can't believe I didn't even think to check my BIOS version.
 
Now I'm very wary to call the problem sorted as it is a fairly intermittent problem, however, results seems positive with the graphics driver not going above 700 us execution time... I'll leave LatencyMon running in the background and see what happens.
