well this is AWESOME!
great build, how are the Alphacool NexXxos radiators?

It's my first time using them but I've read great reviews. I can post temps when the rig is done. One thing is for sure, they have one of the cleanest radiators I have ever used. Almost nothing came out during flushing procedures

I have 2 of the Alphcool NexXxos radiators in my son's build (the white build on my mods rigs) and I can say I am more than happy with their performance!!!

And this thing is looking very nice. I need to get off my lazy butt and switch to the rigid acrylic I have had sitting here for almost 3 months now on my rig.

Nice. My replacement will be here on Monday. Now I will only be missing the motherboard waterblock.

Re: MM Black Carbon - Extreme WC Mountain Mods U2-Extended UFO 4K Build Log 2013/12/08 12:24:36 (permalink)
Updates:

Installed back plates and water blocks on all GPUs. Also modded them to single slot (I will use these Titans to build M-ITX HTPCs when a fully enabled Maxwell comes out) .

Single slot bracket for 780s and Titan:

They can be purchased here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Single-Slot-GTX-780-780Ti-Titan-Bracket-FREE-US-SHIPPING-/190980984225?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item2c775a8da1

Thanks Rick for selling me the brackets and teaching me how to properly do this mod . If you are interested in performing this MOD, please contact him directly (eBay user: maconnect ; EVGA Forums: mayanjedi). He is an awesome guy and the "Pro" when it comes to it .

Now for the mod itself. After removing the Titan cooler, I removed the DVI metal shroud by un-clipping and bending it outwards with an exacto knife. Then I cut the 3 small clips that kept it in place with the PCB. Once that was done, I cut out and bent the DVI-I pins one by one:

Then, with the cutter I created "indentations" on the DVI back plate so I could break it off later:

After the indentations were done on both sides, I just broke it off with pliers:

Now the mod can be taken further by unsoldering each pin from the PCB. I decided to cover it up with electrical tape and some Di-Noc.

Now I added some thermal pads to the Hydro Copper block so the VRMs get some cooling as well:

Now the Titan all prepped with Gelid Extreme Thermal Paste before the block install:

Now the back side VRAM get some love before I install the back plate:

As you can note on the picture above, there are 5 screws to be installed on the back before putting the back plate (All the screws used should be the ones that come with the water blocks!).

Back plate installed:

Now to the single slot bracket installation:

The bracket's 3rd screw hole goes in between the PCB and back plate, and then finalized with the nut and bolt included with the Hydro Coppers:

All done !

LC, Looking good so far!  You've got some major firepower in that build.  I'm following your project very closely as I am planning my new rig using the same case and MB.

Finally put my rig together. This motherboard cpu memory combo was sent directly from the pc gods. I am sitting in the 1% of 3dmark scores. You run 3dmark yet Rava? I would like to compare scores since our pc components are just about the same.

Not yet. I installed the blocks on the GPUs so I am waiting for EK to release the Motherboard block so I can finish it.

I will be building a fully water cooled Z87 HTPC with the 780 Kingpin next.

I was thinking of selling my Ti's and getting a couple of those Kingpins but I already have the EK waterblocks and backplates on the way from frozen so maybe I will play with these for a little bit first. Motherboard block should be out soon, mid December was what I heard so its just about that time. I wont install any watercooling besides my cpu until I get that motherboard block in. Man I wish evga could make a board like this.....

Has it be working good for you? From what I gathered is kind of hit or miss with this PSU and I am hoping I don't have any issues with any of them . If I do, I'll have to go with the Enermax Maxrevo and those cables are a pain to individually sleeve...

The power rocker is kind of stiff and the fact that they just discontinued it makes me a lil uneasy, it makes all I read on H forums about this psu more than just some hot heads baggin on evga...

Jacob said that they kept enough of them to RMA. If they didn't they'll just replace it for the newer flagship. After I saw they offered a 10 year warranty, I was totally at ease.

Small update, unfortunately with no pictures...

Spent some time with Swiftech on the phone today and found out that their PWM splitter don't properly work with the Jet Flo fans. Also, does not work well with PWM extension cables, which obviously poses somewhat of a problem in this case .

So, I did the only thing I could: picked up an Aquaero 6, w/ 2 Aquacomputer pumps and some other accessories .

Will update with pics as soon as I get the goodies .

You won't be disappointed. If its anything as good as the AQ5 (which by the specs is blows it away) you'll be happy with all the customization it offers. I wasn't too picky in my build about the PWM pumps, I just use the flow meter and adjust the flow to ~90 liter/hour. From what I've read on MDPC and alternatively verified on my own, the extra flow rate doesn't make any headway in combating temperatures.

Congrats on the AQ6. You'll have a blast getting it all configured. It's straightforward and works like a champ.

I am happy to hear that . I used a lot of the koolance controllers in the past and have been perfectly happy with them, but the Aquaeros take it many steps further. I am very exited about trying it all out.

Got my Aquaero 6 XT up and running the last couple of days. It's an impressive controller to be sure. Had to rewire some of my fans but all good now.

Will do an update pretty soon. Got the motherboard block but unfortunately while I was filling the loop to leak test, I found out I will need an extra pump at the bottom of the loop.
