Yes I have coil whine on my GTX 970 SSC. The PCB is evga, not nvidia in my case. So far I am bearing with it.

Yes, but the fans are louder, so I do not care.

Yes, over 8 cards and 2 manufacturers. Nothing I can do to clear it up. Swapped motherboards, PSUs, clean power inverter, and all new wires.

Yet, these crappy manufactures do nothing to resolve this annoying issue.

Well, Asus and EVGA saw my youtube videos and both instantly said that it's not normal and offered to RMA. ASUS RMA = instant horrible experience and that made my final decision to return the Asus Strix and come back to evga.
 
It's very annoying to spend $1200+ on new cards and then have to get a hold put on your credit card for another $1200 while you get 2 way shipping. I think its a waste because after going through 8 cards, what is my chance of going through all this trouble of RMA and just get 2 more that whine and have low asic scores lol.
 
These cards are stable at 1550 on air and both have 80% asic scores so it's hard to send them back..

Yes got lots of coilwhine on my 970 FTW.

970sc  nice and quiet

2x 970 FTW SLI, both with coil whine.
 
The whine has been noticed only in game menus so far (FIFA 14 from boot up all the way to in a match - http://youtu.be/gLU8rVqEBA8; Hitman Absolution throughout the whole intro sequence after boot up, Unigine Heaven/Valley credits screen upon exiting the application are a few of the areas noticed). Zero coil whine in Windows, or if there's a frame rate limiter.
 
Even though EVGA is honoring their warranty to affected coil whine cards; I want first to check if the cards have any other anomaly (see http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2248723 for more info). If not, I'll try to "burn in" the whine first before troubling them (and myself) with RMA. I'm also undecided regarding installing my WC blocks already or not, as they would help checking if there's coil whine in-game; but if the cards need to be RMA'ed, I'd be giving myself double work by installing the WC blocks, to get the stock coolers back for RMA.
 
However, something I can confirm is that I didn't switch to water for lower temps and lower noise, to then be annoyed with high pitch electric circuitry in game menus. This did not happen with my HD6950s (flashed to HD6970s). The only gfx card that passed by my hands was a Sapphire Vapor-X before I got the 6950s and the thing didn't spend 30mins on my PC, going straight back to the box and returned to the store.

Significant of noise from mine.  Sent it back to amazon.  Replacements on the way. 

gtx 980 refreence - Only get very slight coil whine under folding core 15 work units, not during gaming/benchmarking/crunching or even folding other work units.
