The DirectX 12 patch is out and the cards have been put to the test, Nvidia & AMD GPUs tested & benchmarked with surprising results. The DirectX 12 patch for Eidos Montreal’s latest feature title Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has been an eagerly awaited one and for good reason. The futuristic first person story driven RPG is one of the most visually stunning we’ve seen yet but it’s also one of the most demanding. This is one of the few games that, we’re told, that has been designed and developed with DirectX 12 in mind. I think if the 1080 Classified was used in the test, it would finish 2nd behind Titan X. The R9 would be 3rd. This is what I'm guessing.

The Fury X is pretty much tied with the 1080 unless you're playing at 1080p.

@ Sajin, I think that's why they did not include Titan, 1080/1070, because they knew their 480/470 would get beaten by the Titan and/or 1080/1070. Notice in the screenshot (you can see the 1440p+ comparisons on the site) that they only have a 1060, 970, and 960 to compare to. They didn't even include the 980 for that matter either - I wonder why?

Maybe they didn't have them? There is pretty important... Known DirectX 12 issue:– There is a known bug that causes some very high end cards to regress relative to DirectX 11. This bug is being addressed by the development team.

So... best case scenario the patch for the patch allows Nvidia to be on par with AMD using DX12 which is pretty much no advantage over DX11 anyway.

Did you notice the increased RAM load under DirectX12? Almost 1/3 more, and the CPU had higher usage as well.

It went up to 9.7gb when the RX480 only has 8b. Is it not being read correctly?

That could but just system memory if it was listed as ram. the mem on the bottom is the vram speed and usage.

That is what I meant, the system RAM usage went up and the primary CPU seemed to have consistently higher load as well. The DX12 engine uses the same texture and such so graphical improvement isn't expected. All this proves is that AMD was a slacker in DX11 and couldn't fill their pipeline. But the tradeoff is that you need more CPU horsepower to fill it completely, even with more threaded optimization on DX12s part.

Ah. I glossed over them, I thought it was all GPU stuff.
