So it seems that SLI is just too much of a headache these days with lack of support for it. I am getting constant crashes in BF4, horrible performance in Blops3 and other games. Have went through TONS of drivers to try and find the best, but still games freeze, stutter, crash from driver problems etc. I believe its upgrade time. Question is, currently I run 2 x GTX 690 classifieds. What single card is worth upgrading to that I can game at 1440 @ 144hz on and handle games with high settings or ultra? i7 4930k cpu asus p9x79 Pro motherboard 16gb G-skill Ripjaws EVGA G2 1300 Watt psu 4x SSD's ( 1 os, 3 others for games) 1 drive is origin, 1 steam and 1 for general downloads. I was looking at the 980TI Classified / FTW (cant find a difference other than appearance), but is 6gb enough Vram for 2k gaming on high / ultra settings and still maintain very high fps?

The Fury X is a bit faster than the 980 Ti @ 1440P so I'd go for that unless you really need PhysX or CUDA.
The Banshee: Ryzen 5 5600 @ 4.65GHz 1.25V, CPU + 2X GPU Custom loop w/ 360mm & 240mm rads, Asrock X370 Taichi, 2X GTX 780 Ti SLI, EVGA 1300 G2, WD Blue 1TB (main storage), Corsair Force LS 120GB (OS Drive), Fractal Design Arc XL, 2X8GB G.skill Trident Z @ 3200 C14

980TI will be great, if you aren't a heavy clocker, then the Classy is largely a waste, go with the FTW. Side note, 2x 690's is better than any one card right now (out of the box), as that is basically 4x SLI of GTX 680's, as each 690 is 2 680s (or 770s) in SLI. From my experience (and im not a battlefield/COD fan... so this may be moot) I have had very little issues with 2 single proc cards and in general scales really well, 3 single proc cards scales pretty well, some games it is awesome, others barely any different than 2x. 4 way tends to be stable but does not scale well, and quad (2 dual proc cards) tends to do really well for things like development software (photo editing to scientific applications) that wants to fully use all of the GPUs, benching it does well (4 way does better) and in gaming it can be hit or miss. Some software loves it, others, not so much. A single 980TI, I think will perform comparably, it has MUCH more RAM so you will not see the FPS yoyoing when you bottom out VRAM anymore, but for raw GPU horsepower the 2x 690s will still outperform it. I think what you will see is a more stable platform without much of a noticed improvement on FPS aside from stability. Also, it will produce WAY less heat and use far less power.

980Ti can do the job you want Classified is more for the subzero super OC fans ---- run it till you let the magic smoke out Since OC is NOT guaranteed, buy a GPU that you will be happy with and join the silicon lottery --- you just have to test it to see what it will do Manage the airflow through your case for best temps with air cooled ACX type cooler -- they dump the heat -- but it is inside the case --- till your case fans push it out

Sorry but ill never spend a dollar on AMD, but i do appreciate the info.
Id love to not drop $700 for a new gpu as these 690's are amazing just cant catch stable drivers it seems.

Don't worry about the pre overclocked cards. Go with a plain 980 ti you wont regret it. My generic cards overclock just as high as the most expensive ones, although I am running stock clocks since there isn't a game out yet that will slow down the 980ti.

I never overclock any of my stuff. I know there are tons of how-to's all over the internet and it isnt rocket science, but Id rather not ruin my cards with a mistake lol.

+1 for the 980ti. I stopped dealing with SLI years ago with my old-school HD5870 Asus Matrix ROG cards. Of course, the micro-stutter was a lot more evident in those days and the drivers have gotten somewhat better. I Just have a bad taste in my mouth from my experience with AMD's drivers. That being said, it was a beast of a card!

I think for 1440p 144Hz you would still need 980Ti? I might be wrong but my 980Ti cannot run ROTTR at constant 60Hz with everything full on.

I can run 1440p at 144hz on my 690's, so id hope a 980 TI could run 1440 at 144hz

Is the hybrid 980ti worth the extra $100 price tag? Looking at that for the better temps and look

What price do you put on less fan noise ? Still cheaper than a custom loop by a mile. If your PC case does not have excellent airflow, to get the ACX type cooler hot air out of the case ......
