You're supposed to plug in 3 regular 8 pins to it, not directly into the PSU.
While that is true of the adapter, I do think cable mod and others will eventually make PSU direct cables for these.

Too bad I can't step up to the Ti version of the FTW3 UG. The crazy supply issues, etc.. pretty much locked us out of an upgrade path.

Has anyone seen any bench-marking that shows the speed difference between the 3090ti FTW3 Ultra and the 3090 FTW3 Ultra? I've seen some reviews that compare the 3090ti FTW3 Ultra to the Founders Edition 3090....but I'm assuming the gap is a bit smaller when comparing the two FTW3 Ultra models.

I bet these 3090 ti card will hit 500w easy with no problem. Even though my revised ftw3 3090 ultra oc can’t get anywhere near 500w. It all makes sense now!!! Unbelievable evga. Now I know why.

In all honest opinion, being an owner of 3090 Kingpin hybrid Gaming with stable OC on top of it, I just see a complete money waste to upgrade to any 3090 TI models other than 3090 TI kingpin which isn't around yet, even with that the performance gain I believe will be insignificant to justify upgrade. I shall wait for 4000 series.

We don't even have price, availability, specs for regular kingpin hybrid, forget about something that isn't even listed yet. By the time both come to fruition, you will be reading the updates on 4000 series. Save your money is my recommendation.

That's my Dilemma. I have a kingpin as well, and I'm sure it's not worth the upgrade. I am hoping the price of the new 3090ti scares me so I don't buy it.

I'm debating trying to get a hydrocopper (or air cooled and hope someone has a block soon), but I'm trying to hold out for 4xxx series I think. My main use case is going to be driving high res VR headsets (5K+ resolution) and from the rumors I've heard of 4090 having 2-3x the performance of a 3090 it just seems like a good idea to wait. Even if RW increase is only 1.5x that's still a lot more than 3090 vs 3090Ti and also 3xxx series is coming up on 2 years old this fall.

Well I am kind of done for a while. It was pretty easy to get the 3090ti card. Still can't get that hybrid 3090 xc3  the 3090 ti ftw3 xc3 is 3.5 slots the 3090 ti ftw3 ultra is 3.5 slots the 3090 ftw3 is 2.75 slots I have an asus strix 3090 it is wide but only 2.9 slots a 3.5 slot wide card is the widest I know of. I think I can fit my 2 3090tis on my threadripper builds.

Most of the 30 series SKUs are closed to registration. The 3090 Tis opened today, but EVGA has closed registration for the 4981 (likely because they have a long list of registrants and do not forecast a lot of supply of that model).
