I'm not sure why this model exists. It seems to compete with other EVGA PSU's.

What is the difference between the GA and the other models. Where does it fit in. Is it worth getting the 850w gold for $134 on Amazon vs. the Seasonic Prime Plus for $154 after taxes and/or shipping at Microcenter? I pay tax on Amazon but have $20 in credit and no tax in microcenter but paying $9 for two day shipping.

Just got one of these (750W) to pair with my 3080 FE and now whenever I launch Shadow of the Tomb Raider, my PC shuts down. This didn't happen with my previous PSU, a 650W GM from EVGA. If I undervolt the 3080, the game will load normally. I've opened a ticket with EVGA but haven't heard anything back yet.

The older Prime Plus gold suffers from the same issue. The way voltage spikes with Nvidia Boost coupled with the much higher TDP ends up tripping the overvolt protection. I'd be willing to bet it's the same thing. Supposedly the newer Prime GX series doesn't suffer from this issue. My guess would be the same with the higher end EVGA units. Definitely good idea to open up a ticket with EVGA to make them aware. Really glad I found out about this before my Prime Plus came from Microcenter and was able to refuse delivery.

A whole lot of users have reported that the 30 series does that on their GA PSUs. EVGA's Jacob has said that they are looking into it. From user feedback, it sounds like the transient power spikes aren't able to be handled by the capacitors on the GA, but can be on all of the other models (G+, G2, G3, etc.).
