I'm running Window 7 x64 on x58 SLI motherboard, and have my C drive configured in RAID 0 using two Intel SSDs.
I had been running Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver 10.8 with no issues.
But after upgrading the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver to v11.7.0.1013 (which supports TRIM in RAID 0), the Intel Rapid Storage Tech system tray icon now says Intel RST service is not running.
I've tried manually starting service, but it automatically stops again.
Also, I'm now unable to launch the Intel Rapid Storage Technology App (IAStorUI.exe).

I've seen a few threads about this problem, and some people suggest that you need your SATA mode to be set to AHCI, not IDE.....but since I'm running RAID 0 (on twp SSDs), my SATA mode is set to RAID (in Bios).

Any help/advice greatly appreciated.
Thx.

I believe that trim is only supported on 7 series boards not the 5 series
    check out this sight. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6161/intel-brings-trim-to-raid0-ssd-arrays-on-7series-motherboards-we-test-it

Follow-up Note: Intel RST service DOES run when I reinstall Rapid Storage Technology driver v 10.8.0.1003 over  v11.7.0.1013....but TRIM feature no longer works.

@texasmich--I can confirm that when  v11.7.0.1013 is installed, I am able to run the Intel SSD Optimizer (ie. Trim function) on my Raid 0 using Intel Solid State Drive Toolbox v 3.1.2

Update:Intel RST service DOES run when I did the following:
    1. reinstall Rapid Storage Technology driver v 10.8.0.1003 over v11.7.0.1013
    2. reboot
    3. Install Rapid Storage Technology driver v 11.2.0.1006
    4. Reboot
Currently, running Rapid Storage Technology driver v 11.2.0.1006, I am also able to access Intel Rapid Storage Technology GUI
(IAStorUI.exe), and also able to run Trim via SSD Optimizer (see attached screenshot).

I had the same issue as you with the service not running or being able to start. I found this first post on the thread here
    http://forums.anandtech.c...?t=2281849&page=14
where he links to download an older .dll file and replace the new one for people who first time install the rst.exe program. Which is why installing the new version on top of the old worked I believe.
