Really Dumb, He was lucky he did not saw off a finger or slip and cut into the PCB.
Very Lucky a piece metal shaving did not imbed itself into the PCB and short it out.
Not really for being "Dumb" he is modding. You my friend belong with union peepz, slow and nothing gets done and over budget. How would it short itself out with no power going though it? Silly guy, you don't know wats ya talking aboutz? Nice, gotta see the guys rig when it's done.

He was talking about when the guy goes to insert it back into the motherboard. Eventually power would be going thru it and if a piece did imbed itself, a short could happen.

The fact that you dremel tooled the crap out of that WITHOUT covering up the rest of the PCB is what made me cringe. I couldn't watch. All of those teeny-tiny metal filings, just waiting to cause a short or component failure.... *shudder* you are so lucky. I totally agree with you though. I'm sick and tired of all of the DVI VGA ports. I'd love to be able to buy a single slot card like the Asus Ares.

I would have looked for a way to do it without cutting it, if anything get some desoldering going on or something. That's a little too permanent for me lol.

Next time do this with a 970 and slip... Show it to Nvidia and tell them what you think of their 970.

Nice job on the card, remember what modding really is. You took something and changed it! People are gonna have their opinions, and that's fine, but in the end you got what you wanted by changing the setup that didn't work for you. Also you ended up with a very fast micro build. Looks good bud! Have a good one!!
