Hi, everyone. I got a GTX 970 SSC (04G-P4-3975-KR) and after i install the nvidia driver it will show an yellow exclamation sign in device manager. I have tried everything windows clean, install clean driver, install driver downgrade to no avail. Does anyone has the same problem and know how to fix this? This is the first time ever i get a problem with an evga video card. Thank you in advance for any help you can give to me. Hi KevinS I got Windows 7 Pro. And yes indeed it shows error code 43? Can this be fix? or do I own a nice black plastic block? B.T.W. On O.S. boot up the fans spins and once windows loads they go still. Thx

Try reinstalling the drivers after cleaning the old ones out with ddu, also move the card to another pci-e slot & use a different set of pci-e power cables to power the card to see if it helps get rid of the code 43 error as well as the fans spinning full blast once in windows.

I will agree sounds like a lemon hardware I find its a slight chance that code = driver issue unless it win 10 then all bets are off if possible test the card in another capable computer nd see if the device manager shows the same in it if so call it a faulty card, if not ??? if the card was bad in some way it should error the same in any computer [windows and drivers loaded ] [opinion]

That is of course unless the QSD BIOS switch on that card is in the Performance BIOS position, then they should run in low RPM mode below 60C..But then again, the QSD BIOS switch in the dBi BIOS position is the default position. Other than that, sounds like a bad card to me though, but testing in another system would be a good idea..Or create another drive partition and temporarily put Windows on it (space permitting) rather than reinstalling/repairing on your main partition..Windows might choke on the install anyway if the card is bad and you don't take it out and use iGPU graphics, who knows.

Hi all, and thank you for your input. I have tried everything installed it on a different system windows 10, windows 7 different pci exp slot with a 560 GTX as primary all comes up as code 43. Can some one guide me on how to turn it to the second bios see if that works please? Thx Fritz

At this point, if you have established that it gives the same error condition in more than one system, it is probably best to RMA the GPU. Any how the BIOS switch is located here: Just power down the system, change the switch position and reboot. That is all there is to it.

Thank you Hemi. My cards switch is on the side of the card. If seen from above i see 1 2 3 position. If seen from the bootom of the card i see Slave Master printed out on the PCB. Is this a 3 position switch (bios 1 Bios 2 write protect) or a 2 position (bios 1 Bios 2)? Thx

Ok. Got this far now. I manage to put the card switch in 2nd Bios position and it gave me code 43 yet again in windows 10. Then I put the switch in the middle position and now it does not show the 970 with exclamation sign but it gives me "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" instead. What can i do? Should I maybe try and flash the bios see if that works? Fritz

Try installing the latest graphics drivers since the "Microsoft basic display adapter" is showing up.

out side of what I see from win-10 error 43 has not been a good thing for me and been just a lemon card , I agree and said above that's your best policy now [RMA ] ?? I don't know what you got left to try ??? this happens to the best of us at times just luck was not on your side this go round good luck

We did the same on with a deuce and a half engine with C-Rations while on a convoy and at mid way we would have a hot meal.
