@ davecozy- can't wait to see what your triple 580's put out. :) Here's the triple 'top dawg' listing for the 580's.

I may have a vantage benchmark coming up that 'might' overtake arj's triple gtx 580's.

Right now I'm at P54,070, I need 687 performance points. What do you guys think, will my three gtx 570's have the gusto do it? :)

You should be able to get some more just be careful not to overload your power supply. Increase the voltage on the 570's and max out those clocks to boost your score.

I won't get much more than 54000 because of my low CPU speed, and I can't go much over 4.1GHz on air because of the temps.

Asus Rampage 3 Formula - Intel Core i7 970 4013MHz
Prolimatech Megahalems
Patriot Viper Xtreme 3x4GB 1284MHz
HIS AMD 7970 (for now - I feel like I'm cheating on my girlfriend not running an EVGA card!)
OCZ Vertex 2 120GB - WD Black 1TB
Corsair AX1200 - Thermaltake Armor+
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 SP1

You can use MSI Afterburner to increase your volts. The max you can get is 1.1v. I'm looking forward to see what you can get out of it. I would slowly increase your OC until you have to increase the volts. Once you increase the volts then the temps will increase. What are your temps on your gpu's?

@ 71stpsde- 56c max temp on the hottest gpu while running vantage. So, I'm thinking there's still some headroom to add a lil voltage.  I'll try the msi afterburner program.

That's very good temps. Good luck getting some more out of the 570's. I love the one I have. I can't wait to get my second one from the step up program. This summer I'll get one more and get the 980x. I'm hoping the prices come down. Paying $1000 is bunch of money, but I'll have everything for my rig already.

If The intel cpu is a retail boxed nib it should be fine and good for 3 years.. Not many manf. are as strict as evga is for rma purposes.

I think to be a one to one comparison, you need to run actual tri 570's. Running the 580 for PhysX is giving you a decent bump over 'true' Tri 570's.  Of course, the 980x helps us kick the carp out of the 'lowly' quad cores too

Doesn't matter if it's a 970 or 980, it smacks all the 4 core cpu's. By whe way, great results with your tri-570's.

I wish they would have an area for the 570's for our vantage and mark11 scores. We are the step children for now.

Yes, the 980x puts the 'Smack Down' on quad cores easily!  If I took out the 580 for physx, nobody will know that I really did pull it out, because 3dmark vantage doesn't show the fourth GPU in action. LOL!
But I'll make it an apples to apples comparison just to be fair. You'll have to trust me on this...

Congrats on your 2nd GPU, It makes a big difference. Smoothness in playback as well. By the time you get the third gpu, prices may have gone down a tad bit, thus you will save big too. The 500 series cards are a hot commodity these days. :)

3DMark11 Benchmark: 3-way SLi GTX 570's

Let's compare apples to apples with a similar system, but with an ATI 5970+5870 in Tri-Filre.

Although his CPU and GPU's are clocked higher than mine, the GTX570's in 3-way SLi still takes the cake.

I felt like keeping an active record of various gaming benchmarks just in case anyone is interested in looking at them for comparison purposes. So without further ado, I'll start it off with some Crysis Warhead Performance Benchmarks using 3-way SLi; with physx disabled on the GTX 580

Re:GTX 570 3-way SLi Vantage Performance benchmark - Check it out! :) 2011/01/27 06:26:17 (permalink)

While some may say that FarCry2 is a little outdated, the graphics are still a pleasure to see. Most especially with the in-game settings all maxed out at 1920X1080.
Today we are going to do just that. Bench the game with everything that could possibly be turned up for optimal viewing pleasure.

In game 'default' settings will also be benched with everything on "HIGH." This will give us something to compare to when the results come in, for an overall total of two RUNS, with three LOOPS on each RUN.

To keep things uniform in structure. All of my gaming benchmarks are taken in 3-way SLi with the gpu's overclocked by roughly 10%. This equates to a simple, but safe level, at 800Mhz.

Now on to the next run with maxed settings

I'm not surprised. These results are to be expected. We have roughly a fifteen F.P.S. drop in frame rate when going from the default graphics settings, to having everything turned up in FarCry2.
Even with the game settings maxed out, our GTX 570's in 3-way SLi, still has a lot of firepower up its sleeve, to take on any of today's latest games.

However, 'we shall see' how well that statement holds true, by working our way up the ladder, benching games from 2007-2011.

Next up on the benching scene will be the ever popular, but not forgotten, CALL OF DUTY4 Modern Warfare, by InfinityWard.

Stay tuned :)

Re:GTX 570 3-way SLi Vantage Performance benchmark - Check it out! :) 2011/01/29 02:00:09 (permalink)
After a little bit of tweaking I came up with slightly higher read throughput capping out at close to 700MB/sec!!

I'm not highly concerned about burst speed, as that only lasts momentarily for less than 3 seconds or so. Sustaining higher levels of read & write speeds is the ultimate goal here.
For further analysation with regard to maximum throughput speeds and cluster size ratios, I've got a total of eight Intel X25 ssd's on my desk to test in RAID0. One of those SSD's is sitting in my laptop at the moment. The difference in speed vs a laptop HD is like night and day, so that SSD will stay there while I bench test the rest of the clan. :)

However, I've got a quick question- Does anyone know if I were to put a 10K velociraptor into the mix with 4 X-25M in RAID0, will I see any sharp improvements in write speed throughput? or will it be nothing worth phoning home about? I understand that in doing so, I'd loose some storage space, no biggie.

Whaddya say?

curious as to how Intel ssd's handle this test, thanks...

@doorules- sure, I'll post some screen shots with that software and the intel ssd's. Just give me some time though, because I'm doing a bunch of other SSD combinations and this includes frequent OS reformats. Very time consuming to say the least.

I'll pm you when I have the results and provide a link to the screen shots too.

Cheers!

I see your GPU clock at 800, the shaders at 1600, but why is your memory clock down at 950? is it because of the 3 SLI

my 570 that I have my clocks are 850 core, shader 1700, and memory at 2000. im on air and im stable with a core voltage of 1.03.

im just alitte confused with your memory clock is all.

Good question DOM18...can anyone else with a gtx 570 confirm that GPU-Z ver 0.51 is showing the same thing. Apparently gpu-z is reading half the memory clock speed here.

See below:

EVGA precision says it's at 1900 memory at stock...so which one is supposed to be correct? lol

Thanks Dom! :)
