Hey all - haven't really been active here lately, but have kept on contributing. (In the morning when I get to work, starting up the Native Client in Chrome is part of my routine). Came into some good fortune and decided to upgrade my rig for the first time since I put it together a good 7-8yrs ago. In addition to swapping out the WD VelociRaptor + Win. Vista (in favor of a 500GB SSD + Win 10), my tired old GTX 285SC is going bye-bye in favor of a 3GB GTX 1060. Very much looking forward to making some bigger contributions again.

Congratulations with your upgrade, and that is a BIG upgrade from a GTX285 SC. We are very curious about the folding performance of your GTX1060 3GB card, so let us know some PPD numbers on different projects if you have time to monitor your card.

Nice to see the 1060 is folding well for you and you'll use less energy as a bonus

Alright, here are some hard numbers finally. A few things first...... This is the card I'm using ( link) - haven't tweaked any settings at all since I installed it. Also, during the day, I have things set on 'low', quitting it when I get home so I can game and then turning it back up to 'high' overnight. Before I did that though last night, I installed the latest driver (372.90 I believe). Looking at the hourly production for 10/3, ignore the small numbers (I have an old MacBook Pro on it's last leg, leaving it plugged in and running the Native Client is about all it's good for). The 15,941 and 12,195 were on old drivers (372.54 or .70) - not sure what, if any difference that makes or whether I just got some good work units. All that aside, adding the three biggest totals up yields 51,398. Accounting for misc. variances, I'd say 47-50,000ppd would be a reasonable baseline to set for this card. I'll maintain this pattern throughout the week and come back at 3 days and 5 days with more updates. (signed up for the Time Zone Challenge too )

you are having lots of units but very low points to go with them. do you have a pass key setup? if not you should do so to get the bonus points for having one. that or you have having lots of bad units.

That's a good point. Just put in the request & got the response email. Will try it out tonight.

ya once you add the passkey to your user config and complete 10 units successfully your points will go up substantially.

Well I put it in on my computer here at work - it's only running the Native Client, but 10 units is nothing for it. If WU's from this are included, my ppd should be set for a good boost tonight.

I hope to see a big improvement for you, PPD seems very low. Enjoy your new card!!
