Yeah this is GREAT for 980 Ti owners. I will still be keeping my 1080 though.

I just signed up for the ICX upgrade for my 1080 SC specifically in the hopes of a step up opportunity. Considering I've had my 1080 SC for like 8 or 9 months now I'd say this is a rocking deal.

Happy EVGA customer.  Affiliate Code: 0Y7-1VU-ATW2

Faster then the Titan X. Vega what? DOA.
Vega was never competing with it, AMD's own Doom demo compared with GTX1080 as opposed to the Titain-XP which was available.  The price drop of GTX1080 is a preemptive reaction to AMD charging similar for Vega, and GTX1080 Ti fills the void of price that previous GTX1080 owners put up with and justified.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

i made a thread about this
http://forums.evga.com/ICX-upgrade-price-and-step-up-question-m2621775.aspx

im worried about the prices they will deem these ICX cards worth. right now my ICX replacment for my 1080 FTW is sitting at $679.99 cost. so when my upgrade gets approved (been waiting a week +) and i get my ICX. will the value be shown at 679.99 and i only have to pay $20 bucks to step up to the TI? or will they drop the price being that they dropped the price of the ref 1080 with this 1080 Ti announcement

Running the titan x pascal at the same clocks will yield better performance than the ti. Glad I got my titan xp's for $600 a piece.

seems like the 1080ti could be a bit faster based on the spec's, i missed the stream sadly but still confident in the Titan xp the performance i've gotten for a few months now has been incredible, how come you think it will be faster even at same clocks?

the Ti has 8 less ROPS and 32bit smaller memory interface than the titan x. but the Ti has the 11Gbps GDDR5X vs the 10Gbps the titan x has. clock for clock. the titan x will beat it SLIGHTLY.

Pascal has been locked down in the vbios modding department since the very beginning. I don't see that changing now.

In addition the amount of ram is quite large and would support 4K monitors very easily so no need to do this.

I read NVIDIA also dropped the 1080 to $499. Except, that would have been the lowest variant.

Rumors say that 1070 was also lowered to 349 but take this with huge grain of salt for now.

Except, this isn't a rumour. Jen-Jsun said "effective immediately" (during the presentation last night) the GTX 1080 was reduced to $499 ($100 cheaper).

$200 cheaper for the founders 1080. They removed the founders premium completely.

I was referring to 1070 price cut, not 1080.

I know you said that, Combo. I didn't mean to come across like I was challenging you about that.

Scarlet, I didn't know which 1080 it was referring to. I just knew that the one originally charged for $599 is now $499.

Originally, it was $599 msrp and $699 founders, so that is a steep prices cut for the founders, which was always just a reference card.

Yeah, I knew it was the lowest variant as per my second post above. You just confused me when you said Founder's Edition Premium.

Excellent. $699 is lower than I expected, I thought it would be $799+. Also love that they got rid of the FE premium. I love the price drops as well, it will be exciting to see what this does to pricing of 980TI's.

I will say though, I would be kinda unhappy if I were a Titan XP buyer at full price.
