While it would be nice to have fewer hotfix releases, It is nice to see Nvidia resolving issues with particular titles and applications as quickly as they can. This tends to be more common with large API shifts and moving from DX11 to DX12 and games supporting both only makes drivers more complicated.

So are you saying that NVIDIA is moving to a single Driver File that will support Windows 7, 8, and 10 and move away from having two different Driver file or that NVIDIA is about to drop support for DX 11 that would include Windows 7 and 8?

I think these *Hotfixes would go over better , if they made it so it was just the update files to download and run - instead of the entire driver package over & over everytime again....

Hello Cameleon, and welcome to the forums! This is a hotfix driver and not an official release. These are almost never WHQL certified.

Hotfix is better then being AMD and rushing WHQL'd drivers that crash anyways and fix nothing but open a can of more worms..

Odd, my last 13 AMD Drivers are Only HF or Optional Drivers. It has now been 5 months since the last WHQL Driver from AMD.

I can't speak for everyone else - I'm mad because Nvidia's quality control has taken a giant dump. Games crashing, F@H crashing, BSODs, etc.

It's sad, but BACK IN MY DAY NVIDIA USED TO RELEASE STABLE DRIVERS!

If you have that many problems that is not the driver fault,  Fix your windows a clean windows 10 pro 64bit, gett all uppdates thru windows uppdate. and make sure your hardware is not failing + temps

That really does not help when Windows installs it own Graphics Driver that is also incomplete to start of with.
I see so many Threads that tell users to Install a Fresh OS and in doing so my correct the Problem ATM but it a poor way of doing so.
It seems the skill of Troubleshooting is really gone now. In the First Place we should not have to FIX our OS.
Microsoft needs to take most of the blame with their forced driver policies. Speaking of Home Users only.

Or just do a DDU or a clean install in the custom

I can't speak for everyone else - I'm mad because Nvidia's quality control has taken a giant dump. Games crashing, F@H crashing, BSODs, etc.

It's sad, but BACK IN MY DAY NVIDIA USED TO RELEASE STABLE DRIVERS!

Mmm i haven't had stability problems with drivers recently (1+year). True that their QC might have dropped but you have keep in mind that they can't test every single combination of pc setup on the planet. There are holes but they're filling them by releasing quick fixes. A couple post higher a dude from amd just said they haven't had updates for a while, even though, we all know, just like nv's drivers, amds driverd aren't perfect. Every app/game/dev are releasing quick fixes to problems which in turn might brick gpu drivers. It's annoying to keep up for nv/amd too i guess.

We were folding on older drivers because Nvidia was still working on the fix for Folding@home. Microsoft dropped that update before the fix was WHQL certified.

I've been having a lot of problems beginning after updating to driver version 378.49, problems started immediately after downloading that game ready driver...problems like games crashing, overriding my audio device settings on every startup and changing the output device to my monitor speaker/ Nvidia HD audio device ,BSODs, system stops responding when attempting to launch World of Warcraft, driver stops responding and then recovers...or doesn't...
ASUS GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB had the problems first with driver version 378.49 (was fine before update), I purchased a new EVGA GTX 1060 6GB and updated driver to version 378.57 and had similar problems...
    :_(
I'm going to download the latest Game Ready Driver and see what happens...hope this driver won't have same issues as past 3 updates.

    Update 3/9/2017:
I had my old SHARP AQUOS running off my Intel CORE i5-4670K igpu via mobo HDMI ouptut, while running my ASUS PB287Q 4K UHD Gaming Monitor off of my EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING ACX 2.0(Single Fan) 06G-P4-6161-KR 6GB GDDR5 via Display Port cable
Tried disconnecting the SHARP AQUOS from the mobo HDMI output... and noticed that my problems (system stops responding/BSOD/random restarts) cleared up immediately...so I connected the PB287Q 4K UHD Gaming Monitor (via DP 1.2) and the SHARP AQUOS HD televison (via HDMI) to the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING ACX 2.0 6GB...and haven't had any more problems.
NVIDIA drivers were not causing my issues after all...

I have been folding  ok with the last HF  Nvidia  Windows 10 64 bit  driver 378.72
My games and folding can now live and work again on the same computer boot.

Was waiting on bcavnaugh to say if this new 378.77  was working as Fast or better for folding

Sorry I am staying on 373.06, their really is no longer a need to test how well drivers are doing ATM.
I do not really Game so we need a Full Time Gamer to test Part Time Folding on newer Drivers in support of Gamers.

I've used this latest hotfix for two weeks now (or the day it was released anyway). No problems with it at all, played loads of Civ 6, Doom vulkan among other games. Stable at least for me.

The next WQ approved driver may come just after the proper release of the new 1080ti ?

    1. Taichi z370. i7 8086k @ 5,2GHz Stable.
    16GB G.Skill Trident Z @ 3,000MHz.
EVGA GTX 1080ti  FTW3. Acer XB270HU IPS 1440p 144Hz Refresh with G-Sync. PSU Corsair AX850. Cloud two cans, and Creative T20 stereo. Realtek HD on board sound.
