Hi Fellow EVGA fans

I'm from South Africa and use a different forum unique to South Africa
Link:

My friend has similar issues, with a EVGA GTX 780Ti SC like chlippry had in the following thread.
Link:

It will boot with 100% fan speed and no video signal.
The problem is that we have already tried to RMA it but the EVGA supplier in South Africa refuse to send it off to EVGA or to look at the card to see what is causing the issue
because there are two screws missing that is required to secure the fan-shroud to the cooler of the card.
I initially thought that EVGA are one of the brands that do allow their card owners to do maintenance on the card and now the card is potentially flagged with the warranty voided because of those two missing screws on the fan-shroud.
This can't possible impact the card negatively in any way.

The only thing I tried so far is to test the card in my rig and it gives the same problem.
I haven't tried the toothbrush method as mentioned in chlippry's thread, will it help if I take the card apart and re-seat it? Will baking the card perhaps help?
Do you have any other suggestions?

Here's a link to my thread on Carbonite Tech Classifieds South Africa where I'm currently trying to solve this problem.

Thanks

Missing screws shouldn't have be a problem at all. A small service charge to replace the missing screws could have been issued along with repairing your card. Is your card still under warranty?

Hi Sajin

Yes the card still had a 120 odd days left when it was sent in on Monday this week.

What should I do?
Should I email EVGA's customer support to get my warranty?

I thought I could try and replace the screws myself and send it back again for RMA but my re-seller told me that he assumes they would've flagged the card and voided it's warranty...

Hi Sajin

I will contact them.
Other warranty questions I have is:
  • What do they replace the card with usally, same card, same value card or same performance card?
  • The South African Supplier of EVGA are really useless and they didn't even bother to look at the card, they voided its warranty and flagged the card as soon as they saw that the two fan-shroud screws were missing - according to my re-seller (who helped me with the attempt at RMA, he also stated that the suppliers warranty works completely differently to EVGA's warranty). Will EVGA Corporate Headquarters have a greater say?
  • The South African Suppliers can't possibly do this? They are only doing this not to lose money but this money is part of a warranty that is not being honored by them but it would've been honored by EVGA themselves?
  • They are giving EVGA a bad reputation with regards to this situation, or am I wrong?
Thanks for your support

According to the RMA info I'm getting another 780Ti SC ACX returned :D

Some people were saying that they no longer return 7xx cards but obviously not.

EDIT

My return RMA has change from 03G-P4-2884-KR to 06G-P4-6163-KR which is a 6Gb GTX 1060.
