I don't think DP 1.4 has that capability yet

Which Brand / one ---I'm looking for a new supersized 65 to 70 inch -- the marketing hype makes me wonder what the True refresh rate is on these TVs

Internal frame interpolation IS NOT port in 240hz. Marketing misdirection. When they advertise 240hz on a TV it's a different feature than when they market 240hz on a computer display. One is "port in" (a port input and cable speed) and the other is "internal frame interpolation" (ie: faking interpolated frames). Your TV won't accept 240hz signal input from a computer.

Port and cable specs are based on bandwidth limitations. Maybe at smaller resolutions there would be enough bandwidth for 240hz if a display supported that signal processing speed. The resolution + hz refresh speed would need to be under the port bandwidth maximum and the display itself would need to be able to lock the speed. I have little doubt DP 1.4 could lock 240hz at certain resolutions. I doubt any display supports it yet though. Considering DP 1.4 has the bandwidth for 8k @ 60hz one would think it would have no issue with 1080p at 240hz.

The title is a bit dumb though, 21:9 is a theater screen standard also known as 2.35:1 AR. One would think "the world's largest 21:9 display" would be a projection screen in a movie theater.
