People here making me anxious.... I don't mind waiting for my card. It's a pre-order and demand is high, but I would be very dissatisfied when EU retailers receive the cards before the EU customers who pre-ordered directly from the EVGA store. That wouldn't make ANY sense at all and a major kick in the testies.
I would sincerely appreciate some clarification on the matter and an estimate on when EU pre-order cards are expected to ship. If it takes longer than two weeks I will curl up under the shower and suck my thumb for the time being.

+1
The nr. 1 reason to order directly via evga.com is the expected early shipment.

OK everyone here is the answer I received from EVGA EU:

"The SC version is already available all across stores in Europe, at our homepage we will have it end of the week.

The demand/requests for this card are just higher then what we can deliver, supply will increase within the next 2 weeks.

The FTW version should be available in Europe End of next week, beginning of the following week.
Same here, requests will probably be higher then the cards we can deliver. Two weeks after first availability supply will be higher."

And what about the Pre-order over retailer situation?

This. I need to know if I should pre-order one at retailers as well.

Ok, this is where I draw the line. First they screw up on the website, making it seem it's available. So yes I order 2x FTW. Then they say it will take another 2 weeks, so I keep the order and they take my money. Now they add another week or more likely 2.

I never had an EVGA card. Only reason I wanted to try them is because I like the bridge and want everything from 1 brand. However, since this time around it's a special bridge, most manufacturers are making their own, so there is more choice.
I have passed up on 3 opportunities to get me MSI cards, and by now 2 opportunities to get me Gigabyte cards. All non-reference. Because yes, I am patient and with 2x 980Ti I'm not in a real hurry to swap them for 2x 1080. All I play is Euro Truck Simulator 2 anyways

I'll move forward in a first come, first serve mode now.... Let's see what I can get....

We are on the same boat. Same happen to me. Now i'm tired to wait. They have my money already and i have nothing ... they sad 2 weeks (15 days ago ...) now 1 more weeks (or two...). Don't know if they think that we are stupid or what. I'm starting to think to go for a refund. MSI, Asus and Gigabyte look pretty nice.
And anyway this thing goes, next time i'm not going for EVGA for sure. I'm disappointed.

Re: 1080 FTW shipments EU 2016/06/15 03:55:38 (permalink)
Small update: I've had some chats with various retailers and docking employees in the Netherlands. The SC is indeed available right NOW and the delivery will be tomorrow. The FTW is a different story and expect the first week of July in small quantities according to mixed stories extrapolated from the grapevine.

At this point, EU customers are likely better off buying which ever aftermarket card is available if you do not want to wait another 2 weeks. The FTW cards are NOT in the EU yet, meaning shipment will take awhile even if you pre-ordered. It is very likely the pre-order cards will be shipped in the same batch as the retailer cards, thus gonna be awhile. Again I don't have this out of official channels, just some people that work in shipping and hardware retail.

Well no matter how some people here keep defending EVGA..... and i am sure its a great brand with the best service.
But when it comes to the pre order situation in the EU and communication to their customers... they really really ****ed up there is no other way to see it.

This is literally the third time now things get delayed. It seems like they have their **** together pretty well in the US but here in the EU its laugheble how bad it is.
I am sure as hell not waiting another 2 weeks... so the first good custom i see i am ordering and canceling this FTW pre order.
Shame this was going to be my first EVGA gfx card... but i guess ill try again in a few years when they have their **** together.

I just asked the EU EVGA
"SC will have to wait 1-2 weeks away."
I Preorder 01.06. (SC) eu.evga.com. who is telling the truth?

I know for a fact that the SC was available. I was able to order them through a dutch retailer. So the SC is definitely already in the EU.
On a side note, first FTW review is up but I am not allowed to link it here....

That actually makes it 1 of the worst overclocking 1080s with really average thermals to boot.....
Maybe just really bad luck with the silicon lotterly but still....

Also, there is no mention of using the 2nd vBIOS which, if I understand right from previous models, may allow further headroom for overclocking.

Untill we start seeing custom BIOS turn up all the cards are basicly the same and its just a silicon lotery no matter if its a FE,ACX,ACX SC or FTW

Cards like the FTW are guaranteed to run at the clock speeds they are tuned to. They are ideal for those who want a higher clocked card, but don't want to deal with software overclocking.

They have no reviews yet of any other custom 1080.... and its not hard to compare to other sites and channels.
It could not hit 2ghz stable... that is terrible...
Also the temp over delta ment it was going above 70c while doing it, unless their room temperature was 16c which i doubt.
People on the dutch forums already noticed it was terrible at overclocking... literally the worst of any of the custom cards tested so far.... almost all could do 2050mhz.

Then those people should get the SC or similar, those that buy a card with dual vBIOS tend not to leave it running at the "stock" clocks.

Well I am about to spend even more on a SC model then I would spend on a ftw because of this problem with pre-orders

As much as id love to buy a evga product, i can't justify spending 100 more than other custom boards just for good customer servivce.

An update from the EVGA rep at OCUK

Some updates from our side as promised:

1080 SC cards - Now arriving in some decent volumes to UK and EU channel partners. Stock a little shorter now though until back end of next week (23rd/24th) due to the gap of production from Dragon Boat Holiday.

1080 FTW cards - Our production now begins on this card next week, only review samples have thus been received by review sites, not one card has been shipped in either the US or the EU. Product will be received in Europe expected in 10-14 days time based on this production plan, and quantities will be shipped simultaneously to evga.com and select channel partners around Europe.

I will update further as and when we have more details. Sorry information to date on the FTW card has not been 100% accurate but the above should bring you right up to speed.

I am back from travel the rest of this week now so should be able to give a few updates.

Thanks

Well that at least is some good information at last, shame it took someone reposting it from a 3rd party forum.  Sounds good that they are honoring both the evga.com AND retail stores, i do not mind getting my FTW card +/- a few (1-3) days to others that have pre-ordered, but week(s) would be unacceptable.  Hopefully there are no more delays and we can work around the ~27th as the EU shipping date (with evga.com orders as well as retailers).  Hopefully evga could still weigh into this post to confirm this info and even give better specifics (like ship dates).. one can dream..

An update from the EVGA rep at OCUK

Hi All

Thanks
Ben"

So there is this character called Ben that seems to give the impression not a single FTW was produced up till now, except some samples, while Newegg got a box and sold them to people and US preorders are having their CC charged and a Jacob saying that a shipment had come in....

I can't even begin to describe how I'm starting to feel about my order...

Hi everyone,

i can understand that lots of People cant wait to have their new card in hands, but please understand the following situation:

I can 100% confirm that not a single card has been shipped into channel partners in Europe. We are expecting product to arrive to Europe in 10-14 days.   Upon receipt we always allocate some stock to our EVGA Shop and to step-up, however we also need to support our channel partners right across Europe. So FTW will appear at EVGA Shop and selected (allocated) channel partners across Europe at the same time.

Thanks for your understanding and best Regards

Jan

Jan is absolutely correct. Once the cards arrive on European shores they have to go through customs just like any other electronic shipment and once they clear customs then they go to EVGA in Europe for allocation.
