Hi everyone. First time here and pretty new to stuff.
I just bought 2 sticks of 4GB RC Memory
PC3-12800 CL11
RCB4GB584CA3-16IC
1600MHZ UDIMM

I been reading up a little bit before attempting to upgrade my memory from 2x 2gb to 2x 4gb and I read somewhere that I need to change the voltage in BIOS. However, after doing so, my PC restarts on its own randomly. How do I tell what voltage and other settings I need to change to to get it to work?

Sorry for the lack of information if any here.., Pretty new to these stuff.

Thanks in advance

First thing you need to do is identify the frequency, timings & voltage for your new ram, the frequency, timings & voltage can be found on the jedec stickers on the sides of your ram modules...

Next thing you should so is shutdown the pc (unplug pc from wall or switch power supply to off position), take old memory out, put new memory in, press clear cmos button (clear cmos button can be seen here from rear io picture), power on pc & enter the bios, select load defaults, press F10 to save and exit bios, re-enter bios.

Access the frequency/voltage control menu, memory feature menu, set memory frequency setting from auto to 1600MHz, set tCL, tRCD, tRP, & tRAS settings from auto to the timings listed on the side of your new ram modules, also set the command rate setting from auto to 2T. Go back to main frequency/voltage control menu and access the voltage control menu, set dimm voltage setting from auto to the voltage listed on the side of your new ram modules. Press F10 to save and exit the bios. Should be good to go now.

Ok I did what you told me to. When I plugged in the new DIMM sticks, my PC won't boot up. Stuck at Error Code 68.
The ram was inserted into slots 1 and 3 as instructed by the manual.
So I swapped back to the old ram, went into BIOS, changed the settings to the new 4gb ram ones, according to what you instructed and the com ran for awhile.. about 30 minutes before it shut off and restarted on its own.
    Any ideas?

Sounds like the board doesn't like the ram you bought. Put new ram sticks in, press clear cmos button, boot pc, load optimized defaults inside bios, save & exit bios. What happens?

Tried this method, PC doesnt boot up. Shows error code C3.

The method that I used was to boot up with old 2gb DDR3 rams, go into BIOS, set the memory settings according to my 4gb ram sticks 11-11-11-28-128 and Command Rate to 2T, Frequency to 1600mhz and voltage to 1.70v. This is the only way I seem to be able to get the 2x 4GB to work, but this is also causes the PC to occasionally crash and restart on its own, especially when (what it seems) stress is put on it (e.g. when I play games like Battlefield 3)

I thought I might have bought incompatible memory, but I read the manual and it says the mobo accepts up to 4gb DDR3 sticks... So yeah...

Rebooting during gaming = a psu problem. Your system doesn't reboot while under stress with the old ram?

You said you set the timings to 11-11-11-28-128 and Command Rate to 2T, Frequency to 1600mhz and voltage to 1.70v. What happens when you set the 128 timing to auto? What timing, frequency & voltage did your old ram run at?

Hi Sajin, sorry for the late reply. My previous Ram ran at 9-9-9-24-74. Command Rate 2T, at 1333mhz, 1.52volt

Try running at 1600MHz with looser timings or try running at 1333MHz with default timings.

Sorry what do you mean by looser timings? Like if its 11-11-11-28-128 what should I change it to? 9-9-9-24?
Alternatively you mean I can also try to run at 1333mhz with 11-11-11-28-128 right?

To make the timings looser you would increase the numbers like 12-11-12-28. Yes, try 1333MHz at the default timings.

    Hi Sajin,
Bad news. The settings you recommended both won't work.
At 11-11-11-28-128 @ 1333mhz made my PC crash after start up
    At 9-9-9-24-74 @ 1600mhz it wouldn't even start
