Well my LG G3 is off for repair. It had a violent fall and the screen shattered. Using LG One Price program literally took 5 minutes this afternoon. Phone shipped out 5 minutes ago. I am to rock'in my old S2 until I get it back.

I know you may not like it do to the size but I say the Nexus 6 is the best damn phone out there to date!!!!! I just recently got mine a week ago and boy I sure love the hell out of it. This phone has all the specs that I possibly wanted in a modern smart phone which is a 2560X1440 display, at least a 3000mAh battery, bone stock android experience, 6 inch screen, dual front facing speakers, Snapdragon 805 chip, fast charging/wireless charging, an encrypted phone(yes this phone has encryption!!), and quicker updates from Google(which recently happened for me 4 days ago for android 5.1). Idk if you remember but I use to post a hell of a lot of Nexus 6 threads in computer industry section but thats because on how hyped I was about it. Well I finally got my hands on one.

Its so fast at doing everything I want. When playing games with the Adreno 420 graphics chips is butter smooth. I play games like real racing 3, Nova 3, Need for speed most wanted, Modern Combat 4, GT Racing 2, Asphalt 8, and Gangster 4. Also the 2560x1440 screen res is fantastic! Yes it may drain the battery a bit more but thats why it has a 3220mAh battery and turbo charging and yes turbo charging does work. But at least the screen on the Nexus 6 does not drain as fast as the LG G3 since that screen is a LCD(LG G3 tends to get hot to the point where your unable to turn up your screens brightness all the way up to 100% do to the screen needing to cool down). Just want to clarify that both phones also use a 2560x1440 display. The quality on the LG G3 beats the Nexus 6 out the water because of that LCD screen with a higher pixel count but the hardware on the LG G3 is slower because it uses a Snapdragon 801 chip instead. If you plan on gaming on a LG G3 its going to be a hell of a lot slower than the Nexus 6 because the LG G3's graphics chip is a 330 chip instead of the 420 chip.

I can finally have at least 4 and half hours of on screen time on the Nexus 6 with my brightness set at half way. I bet I can get 5 and half hours if I enable battery savings mode on. Like I said battery is fantastic! Why because its 3220mAh battery of course and because its bone stock android. It does not have all that bloatware crap that Samsung phones have that suck down all your battery life as well as slowing down your phone and taking up "HDD space." Another thing is if you have AT&T and get a Samsung phone, AT&T also installs extra bloatware of AT&T apps on the phone as well. I have that carrier and I am surprised AT&T did not put any of their bloatware on my Nexus 6.  But all and all if you are looking into getting a flagship top spec phone that is big, you cant go wrong with the Nexus 6. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask away. I will be more than happy to answer what I can.

I was going to get a Nexus6, awesome phone but the camera sucks. I need a good camera and the G3 is amazing. My buddy just got the Nexus6 and his only complaint is the mediocrity of the camera.

Those are some nice specs for the camera. But I am not the type of guy that takes pictures anyways. In fact I have my back and front camera on my Nexus 6 covered up with electrical tape. Why some of you may ask because I value my privacy thats why. Some apps like to activate your camera without your permission as well as hackers being able to activate it. They may still be able to listen to whats going on in the background through the mic but at least they cant see me.

Anyways even though the phone may have a Snapdragon 810 chip that has a Octo CPU, well those CPUs are in fact not genuine 8 core CPUs. Its just two quad core ARM CPUs put together. Another thing is both CPUs do not run at the same time. Generally if there is a stressful application running on your phone like a game, the phone will use whatever the faster quad core is, which in this case is the A57. Just imagine how poor your battery life would be if both CPUs ran at the same time. Good thing about the Snapdragon 810 chip is that its using DDR4 RAM clocked at 1600mhz this time compared to the Snapdragon 805 chip that uses DDR3 RAM clocked at 800mhz. This GPU on the 810 chip is not really an improvement at all. Basically its a 430 Adreno GPU which is more likely 2%-4% faster than the 420 Adreno GPU out of the Snapdragon 805 chip.

Edit: I forgot that what sucks about Sony phones is you have to use their proprietary stuff. I had two Sony phones my self before and I hated how I had to buy their micro SD card for memory expansion in which they price gouge out the wazoo. Last is the software experience is not as great as other phones manufactures like Samsung, HTC, LG, and Nexus line up of phones.

My carrier does not support Sony devices... Also, their update system really sucks... From what I've read, you basically get what you buy and that's it... The OS updates are few and far between.

The Nexus 6 is pretty sweet but with my plan I would have to pay $240 vs $0.01 for the LG G3. I just wish the wireless charging didn't require a special case. I wanted a heavy duty Otter box that can do wireless charging.

That sucks, not sure which carrier you are with... Sprint includes that case with their stock G3's.

At&t and they suck.... They are partnered with Duracell so you can only use their powermats, not the QI charging. They charge the most for adding a device and they don't include anything. The service is pretty good except a few areas.

Yeah... I had a co-worker that bought a Note 4 through AT&T. They take the Samsung headphones out of the box and say it's not included. When I got mine, he was in awe that Sprint included headphones with theirs.

The LG G3 is hands down the best phone out right now.
I would wait for a G4, it can't be that far away.

The G3 is a "big5+ inch" phone, however the screen is edge to edge and it's much smaller vs. other large phones.
I went from a iphone4 to this and I will never go back to a smaller phone.

Besides from my recent post here, this is a other reasons why I think the Nexus 6 is the best smartphone with a big screen that anyone should get.

I thought you might want to see this info on the HTC One M9 for the rumored specs. I really like this phone design. I just wish it had a 6inch display since I like to have a lot of real estate for playing games on my phone. Also I would prefer the screen not be LCD but AMOLED to help save on battery life since it is rumored to have a battery less than 3000mAh. But all in all phone looks promising

But then here is an article for it: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_m9_photos_leak_confirm_new_camera-news-10838.php

Isn't the Verizon droid turbo the best phone out now? It is faster than the nexus, and has an insanely huge battery, tablet sized battery.

The Droid Turbo's specs is not faster than the Nexus 6  because both use the same hardware(Snapdragon 805). Actually Nexus 6 should be a tad bit faster because the software of it being pure stock android but Droids is close to Nexus 6 stockness  unlike most other Android phones(Samsung, Sony, HTC). The only thing better than the Nexus 6 is that the droid does have a big nice battery of 3900mAh (which me like), and the camera on the droid is 21mp instead of the 13mp on the Nexus 6. If your guy that takes a lot of pictures than the droid will be way better. As I have stated I have my cameras covered up in electrical tape.

I thought the droid turbo's cpu was full tablet mhz enabled where the nexus was slightly down clocked? Ill have to look again at the specs. I know you are good no matter which you go for, but turbo is let down by the fact its verizon exclusive and also who knows when it gets android 5. My nvidia shield tablet got android 5 instantly.

No, it's the same exact chipset with the same frequency. The Nexus 6 will have an upper hand on OS updates and stability compared to a device that is limited to one carrier and a much smaller customer base. The Droid Turbo does have a better camera and larger battery, but the screen is smaller by nearly and inch. They are both made by motorola though.

Just got my LG G3 last night. I feel like a noob with this thing. Love the power and volume controls on the rear and the knock code is pretty cool. The screen is amazingly clear and I actually had to turn the brightness down to 60%. The software from LG to transfer all my contacts sucks. The phone shows up but is inaccessible on my computer. I need to research another way to transfer contacts as they weren't on a sd card. Haven't tried any games or watched anything on it yet but I am looking forward to seeing what it can do. Other than that, this is a very cool phone and I actually have better coverage now. Can't wait for my case to come so I don't have to baby it so much.

So I bit the bullet and got the iPhone 6 today. I got a gray 64GB, not the 6+ though. I also got a black life proof case to prevent another shattered screen hopefully.

So far I really don't have any complaints. It is unbelievably fast compared to my old Moto G. I mean just a night and day difference. The camera is 10000x better as well, the keyboard is faster, battery lasts way longer, 64GB vs 16 on the Moto G. I figure if I decide I don't like it I have 2 weeks to return it, so can't hurt to try it but so far I really like it actually.

I'm also looking for a new phone, what will be my first smartphone aftering being on a Motorola KRZR forever on a T-mobile prepaid.  One thing I can say for certain, Apple iPhones have dumb specs for their price.  It is like an Android phone from a few years back, but a price from the future.

Probably the most expensive unlocked Android I may consider and suggest is Blu's Pure Life XL, but more than likely I will choose the BLU Pure Life, nice specs per dollar.  I have no reference for performance other than what I had before.  Also, H2O Wireless is cheaper than T-mobile, I recommend that too.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

I have the HTC One (M7) - love the phone, although the camera isn't that amazing.. extremely good for low-light shots for sure, but a bit grainy for day time shots once you transfer them to a computer and view on a larger screen. I really like HTC BlinkFeed though.. I thought I'd hate it, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite features.

The HTC One Hemi (M9) is expected around March 2015 and rumors are that it will sport a 20MP camera, which will make it THE ultimate phone imo...  I will definitely be buying it if the rumors are true.

I recently got my wife a LG G3 and it is a very nice phone. Very light weight, great screen quality, nice and snappy response, she loves it (then again, she was coming from a corporate-paid BlackBerry Curve, so of course the G3 is impressive after that, lol).

We run on Verizon.. little pricey (although they are getting better now), but their reception is still leading the pack in NYC, and that's why we're staying with them.. for now. Unlimited talk & text for $40/month per phone to and from anywhere in the US, and we are currently paying an additional $80/month for 10GB of data shared between myself & my wife. We'll likely reduce that, but my wife is used to her work paying for unlimited data and not having to worry about it, so I thought I'd play it safe to start with and see how much she actually uses on average, then drop down as required. Good news is that her work are going to pay her $100/month for her phone costs instead of just giving her the BlackBerry... clearly that's a great deal for us.

I don't use a tablet, however I got my wife a Nexus 7 (Google branding) about a year ago and she loves it..

If you have kids, we recently got an Amazon Fire Kids tablet (7") for our daughter, and she freaking loves it! She's 2 years old, turning 3 soon, and drives it like a pro. Very crisp display, and good o/s for parental control, and lots of educational stuff and apps as well as games and movies, cartoons etc. etc.. Only negative is that it doesn't have much disk space and I have to delete older apps every now and then when it fills up. Kinda wish they thought ahead enough to have it automatically remove the oldest apps/movies when the disk gets full, but it's a minor inconvenience considering how much our daughter enjoys the tablet. Just runs off our local wifi, and we can run hotspots through either of our phones as well, plus our cable provider has wifi hotspots all over NYC, so we're pretty well covered and have no monthly connection costs for it. Same goes for my wife's Nexus 7.

Go with the original smart phone, the Apple iPhone. The rest are imitations. Never owned them, never will. Once you go with an iPhone the rest are, well the rest. Had an iPhone 3, 4, 5, and now 6 plus. Each version gets better than the last. If you want an older one PM me, as I have a number of them I have yet to sell or have been too lazy to list.

Do a Speck case. They are much better, as the Lifeproof are not very life proof. Glad you did an iPhone, you will not regret it.

I have to say, I really like that it's ready to go out of the box. I don't have to download a bunch of apps to get simple things like a flashlight or a solid auto dinner for the screen. (I never did actually figure out how to turn on the stock one, it was so strange.)

I also don't have to root it just to take a freaking screenshot which is cool. The controls make sense physically, and the silent switch is dead useful as a student. With my Moto G I had to go to Settings, Sound, Volumes, then adjust all 3 sliders separately. Texts send instantly, both on and off iMessage. The magnifying glass when selecting during typing is amazing to have after not having one before.

The camera is awesome, I've gotten some sweet pictures with it. The voicemail makes 100x more sense. I don't have to "press 6 to replay, or 7 to delete". Instead I can just delete it on the menu. The Lightning connector doesn't have to be oriented a certain way which is also very cool, especially in the dark. The keyboard is also much more responsive and accurate, and I can type much faster on it as well.

So far so good. No regrets.

I'll look into that case, thanks.

Damn it you got an iphone! Well your going to regret it sooner or later. If your like me your going to get pissed off with using Apples itunes because you cant just drag and drop music and use your phone with other computers. Also your going to get pissed off on how badly you get ripped off using Apples proprietary stuff. Lets not forget if you have any problems your going to have to go through Apple's retarded customer service experts.

Anyways those things you say you cant do on an android phone well you can. For example you dont need to be rooted to take a screen shot. You just push the power and volume button thats all. Also the flash lights on androids are basically widgets and on Lollipop the notification bar now has flash light for you there. Keyboards on Androids now days like the LG G3, Nexus 6, Note 4, HTC M8 are very responsive. Maybe some of you just have too big of fat fingers that are too oily.(I have big fat thumbs, thats why I like big phablet phones). It also depends if you have screen protectors on too.   Also who cares about pressing 6 or 7 for voice mails? I guess people are that lazy to push a button now days. All I have to say is you just locked your self down by going with Apple. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with an iphone that is if your like my mom and dad who are computer illiterate, then going iphone is a better choice do to the simplicity compared to android. But I know you are a computer nerd just like me and many other members on this forum and being mostly locked down to do what you want is going to piss you off sooner or later.

lol I think it's ridiculous that Apple needs your credit/debit card information just to use the app store, even for the free apps. I found that out today, trying to help my mom get a jigsaw puzzle game on her iPad 3.

Note quite sure why that is a big deal. I have had these devices for a decade with no problems. If you get free apps, never a charge. Also Apple is 200 times more secure than your bank. They actually have invented the best and most secure payment system, Apple Pay.

@ Hazman,
I never bash other products because I do not care. I already own the best and know it, so there is no reason to bash them. I just feel sorry for those that need to. I guess when you are truly the best, everyone is after you in very vicious ways. Never had an android phone and probably never will, so I have no perspective and no idea how they work. I just know those that have switched say they wish they did a lot sooner. The things is I like it when things work, regardless of my affinity for computers. I spend too much time with other IT things that never do and really enjoy it when a manufacturer does it right and can appreciate that.
