So got my replacment 980 classy and was putting it through its paces and ive noticed a weird issue it seems with heaven. When ocing card and if it crashes Heaven during benching that even if i lower/put clocks at stock heaven crashes right away before i can even bench again. Only way to fix is for a restart which i find kinda weird. Even previous 980 did this and i think my 780 as well. Anyone else have this issue?

If i crashed during a bench and lowered clocks it would ofc crash right away, but if i save the profile of that oc and simply restart pc and run heaven again, it runs fine unless ofc it crashes again till i lower some more/find stable OC. So ya, anyone else got this issue?

This is most likely related to precision messing something up.

Maybe it's afterburner then. Are you running the newest 347.09 driver? If so, maybe nvidia messed something up that keeps the display driver from resetting correctly on driver 347.09.

Sadly i noticed it before using both precision and msi, just kinda assumed was normal but was getting annoying today so figure i post and just find out if its a normal thing to happen or what but eh, not a biggy biggy just annoying to have to restart after a failed OC running heaven.

Yeah, a while back on older drivers you had to restart your PC after a failed OC. On newer drivers you don't have to restart because the driver automatically resets the display driver and you're good to go. Looks like you gotta do it the old school way for some reason though.

Also, 1 final question now that i can use, which slider exactly controls the main voltage for core needed to be stable, read over the title earlier but not sure exactly which slider does the voltage and does it stack with precisions voltage already set? If there better instructions someplace id be glad to read but ya.

This is a weird issue because I have it as well. Happened in both Windows 7 and Windows 10 preview. It's not all the time, but it happens from time to time.

That depends upon what the error is. A 'simple' driver timeout, will usually recover with a reset. A bad overclock may fault the the GPU and require a reboot.
