I'm using the pre-installed Windows 8.1 motherboard drivers for my EVGA X58 SLI and having problems when using my eSATA HDD enclosure.  It seems that it will only detect when I reboot, whereas it worked without having to reboot when I turned on the device with Windows 7.  Does anyone have any thoughts?

I fixed this problem by installing EVGA's native motherboard drivers.  You would think the Microsoft drivers would be the same if not newer.

I personally believe it's better to use the manufacturers drivers

I normally do too but when I saw the release date on EVGA's drivers, it said 2011.  Upon installing, it said 2013.

So the drivers that stated 2011, when installed showed 2013? Weird

It appears it probably was copied and pasted of another group of drivers for an earlier version of Windows.  This is why I first decided to use the Windows drivers over EVGA's but when the issue began happening, I had no choice.  And, to my dismay, it wasn't the one from 2011.
