Hey guys, so I've had the 1080 SC for 3 weeks now. But apparently everytime I start my computer it says to download the new precision X OC upgrade to 6.1, when I downloaded 6.1 from the mirror link. The mirror link says download 6.1 but it installs 6.0, if you guys know how to download the new version that would be great. Also my monitor screen turns black and can't access anything, is this because of the graphics card or is this a monitor problem?

Are you using a dual dvi link? 144Hz or gsync monitor ? There's a beta driver that fixes a refresh bug that is known to cause black screens with high refresh rate monitors. Precision is buggy ...I'd stay with MSI afterburner...

I'm using DP to DP, asus 3840x2160 60hz. (it's not gsync). Also do you highly recommend msi afterburner?

Yes, make sure you get the beta that supports 1080 cards. Its more reliable than evgas precision. Hmm.. What driver are you using ? I think the 1080s are buggy with certain monitor connections...definitely sounds like a driver issue.

Yea I got the evga 1080 superclocked edition, and you're talking about the "beta msi afterburner for 1080s"? Also the black screen happens only when I power on my computer. Let's say I turn it on, and it loads all my apps and stuff, after like 2min it turns black. My computer is still on cause all my other equipment is on, fans are still running. It's just the screen turns black and I have to restart it, which is annoying. I've uninstalled all the drivers and reinstalled them but that doesn't help.

did u try uninstalling your drivers with the DDU program? if that doesn't fix it, i'd try a clean install of Windows.

MSI Afterburner has been super reliable/stable for me. hasn't had a single hiccup during any overclocking or tuning of the fan curves.

Are you using the dp cable that came with the monitor? If not, pickup a high quality accell/amphenol dp cable to replace your current one.

Yea, I'll probably buy a new Dp cable just to see if maybe something so simple can be the problem. If that still happens I would have to uninstall with ddu. I'll also look into msi burner. Thanks to everyone that has given me some solutions, you guys are great!
