Dragon Age was awesome, the first one, imo.   I think I logged in 120 hrs on my first play through.

E.Y.E,, is on another level, and it still trips me out each time I start it up, going through the ominous glowing portal.  Both the Mentor and Rimanah, still acting shady.  Shot one by mistake, didn't end well....(ok I did it on purpose, lol)

I'm slacking sorry, will try to get that video up and tagged soon.

Re:E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy 2013/08/08 20:16:38 (permalink)
So I had a chance to make a few videos.  A couple of ones using the hacking skill on a bank dispenser (ATM) and one of just random mobs coming at me.

As far as the hacking in game. You 5 different Virus types (attacks) you can use.

Attack: Decreases target's HP (amount dependent on your Attack stat)
Mask: -37 Target Attack (removes the amount from the Tragets attack pool)
Scan: -35 Target Defense (removes the amount from the Targets defense pool)
Shield: +36 Defense (increases your defense by this amount per turn)
Overflow: +37 Attack & -22 Defense  (gain 37 attack but lose 22 defense when used each turn)

I've been playing around with the different attacks and found that using the following:  Mask, Mask, Mask, Overflow, Mask Attack.... then going back and forth from Mask and Attack.  Will usually do the trick.  Making sure that the targets Attack is at 0 before you use your attack.  Keep in mind that the AI has the same Virus types, which it can and will use.

If trying to pick and choose your attacks wasn't hard enough.  You have to keep an eye on the 2 bars right below them.  Showing:   My Virus  and Enemy Virus.    Now you can spam the buttons and go crazy because that will not do anything.  Using a virus, you will need to let it load on "My Virus" before using the next.  Essentially competing with the AI to load your virus first, faster, to do more damage.

This may seem confusing, and it was for me. but take a look at the 2 video's.  Hope they help give you a better understanding.  If this is an problem with them or you want to see something else in game, please let me know.

Video 1: Hacking Fail
Video 2: Successful Hack with monies $$$ as reward
Video 3: Just getting attacked by random mobs in New Eden
(videos were recorded in 1080p, may need to set it to full screen to see details)

Sleep is for the weak and sickly :D
Awesome, thanks for the videos, I have been getting better at hacking as well.
Hacking ATM's is gooooood money, and easy money too, since they aren't built in with a counter, it really does very little to you if you fail the attempt.
I read up more on the history and apparently the E.Y.E and the Jian are originally partnered, and part of the Secreta Secratorum however due to internal struggles and all seem to originally be an arm of the Federals.  However at the height of the civil war, apparently we nuked a terraformed world of the Federals and got it blamed on a terrorist group.  Which explains why Rinanah had no problem asking me to bomb a "Metropolis".
Rimanah is getting more overt, and mentor is getting more and more shady.  He tracked me down when I was in the archives, to ask me about one side detail that happened in the first New Eden mission, I answered honestly, he got spooked, was surprised that Rimanah knew about the results, then quickly changed the subject and said he had to leave the base to  "wrap up some.....ends, and handle some...... well, I need to get off planet, elsewhere" gee, he isn't shady at all, I do have my suspicions, but I really got to wonder what he is up to.

Loving the extra cash from hacking, been helping me with my research and cyber upgrades, if you are into hacking the Cyber brain and firewall updates are a big help, I also recommend Cyber Armored Skull and Torso, then saved me last night from a sniper with a stealth field.  Also last night, I found my first research project in the Necro-Cybermancy area!!
Also, mind the aircraft, sometimes it just flies by, and other times it's like being chased by an Apache Gunship, not good.  Thankfully the auto Self resurrection tech I researched a while ago came in REALLY handy!

Forgot to mention, this game is the only one since System Shock that I have had some REALLY good usage out of leaning, really helps a LOT for counter sniping, as well as picking off turrets.

That's awesome!  Agree with #1, really amazing for the type of game.   #2, yeah I agree but I think that's part and makes the game a heck of lot more interesting.  There are guides on steam and If you have any questions feel free to ask.  DaveB and I are happy to help with any questions we can answer.

#3, that will be a lot

Keep us updated.

Re:E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy 2013/08/29 08:11:15 (permalink)
@cnehauser
Welcome aboard!  Well, I haven't had the time I wished I did over the last couple weeks, however, I will make a point of some game time in soon and updating.
1)  OH YEAH atmosphere for days!!
2)  where are you struggling with the learning curve?  If it is hacking, I recommend following Eddies video guide.  Other than that, let me know and I will assist as I can.
3)  You WILL spend a lot of time in this game, turning it on, you will spend a lot of time, and it just gets better.

Just remember, your recurring nightmares *do* have meaning.  The cave at the beginning is more of a metaphor than a physical place, no one is exactly what they seem, from your Mentor, to Riminah, to the blind woman in white, to yourself to the story teller who is randomly near Riminah's office, listen to him when he is there BTW, really good info, do not take it at face value.  This **IS** a mobius loop ala Lost Highway, however you (your character) is aware of the loops.
General gearing advice, always have a Damaclese (sp) with you for intense fights between mag reloads or getting swarmed, make sure you research it ASAP and get the syringe, and dont use it below 25 points, and unless you cant hit crap with a rifle, grab the 308 sniper, as it is VERY handy, the 50cal turns people into hamburger, BUT, too much recoil and a small mag, in most instances, it is not practical.

Get out there, read EVERYTHING and get to finding out what is really going on.  Please post ALL questions, thoughts, concerns etc in here, Eddie and myself will answer as we can,  there is SO much depth it can get REALLY immersive.  Also, go to the archives and just read, there is some REALLY interesting history there,m some of it will cover characters you meet, some is more distant history, how The E.Y.E, Secreta Secritorum, Jian Shang DI and how they are all intertwined.
I don't play as much as I would like, because it is SOOO immersive and I hate when I need to do something, want to game for an hour and suddenly announce what the#*($^&% when did it get DARK?!?!  So I have to play when I have a few hours to kill, as I get WAY too dragged into the game.

Will be spending some quality time in E.Y.E this weekend.  I'll try and make some new videos to post.  Looking forward to the new zones.

side note:  If you see a non aggressive 4 legged alien looking thing in New Eden:  don't shoot it unless your feeling evil or want to know what achievement is that you get.

Hah, I have spent a LOT of time in New Eden, and have never seen something of that description.  Is there a stray dog in New Eden, or a stray alien?  Pics Eddie, PICS!!

I got really busy and didn't get any time in it over the weekend, but I will get some more time on it soon though, and do some updates here.

@CNeuhauser
get a chance to get any more game time in?  Hope so, let us know what you have seen/done/are thinking.....sooooo, do you trust Riminah, The Mentor, blind woman in white (if you have found her yet), none of the above.
This is a fun one to discuss once you get going, sooo much details, makes for very interesting discussions.

Been a while since my last post here, I apologize.  Been awhile since I got a chance to play EYE.  Sat down and actually went through the 2nd mission, was crazy with all the random alien monster dudes running at you from all directions.  Finished that mission and went on to the 3rd.  I made a quick video of the beginning as not to give too much away.

Re:E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy 2013/10/09 08:54:00 (permalink)
Eddie, right there with ya, been super busy and haven't had the several hours i always get sucked into for EYE.

Soooooo, have you found the roving story teller yet, or met the blind woman in white? You aren't nearly far enough in for one of the soldiers to be asking you if you are OK after you had a conversation and he told you that you were talking to yourself, but around then is when the game goes from odd to waitwhathuh??

Some of the missions get jumbled up in my head as to which was which.  You cleared the infiltration mission?  Did you see the Werewolves?  How did you do at the bum rush form the Meta's?  In the chaos, I accidentally killed the contact haha.  And Eddie, unlike you accidentally shooting Riminah, this was an accident, got mauled and swang my Damaclese like crazy when the dust settled, he was next to me and cut in half ..... uhhh oops lol.

I really need to fire this back up, ever since my mission I spent like 3.5-4 hours on that a random side mission glitched on and wouldn't let me finish the main  mission of, I haven't been back, as I just haven't had that amount of free time.  They really need to oust checkpoints and let me just save the game, really, my one and ONLY gripe about the game in general.  Riminah has me doing some VERY not cool stuff to a metropolis, and he is fine with it because he was party to nuking civilians a few years back, he defends it by saying it is fine because we can pin it on someone else.  But you get ID'd in very short order.  So when I complete it, I am really interested to see how he twists and dodges his way out of him/me/us getting blamed for it.    REALLY don't trust that guy.

$2 is a really good price!  The game itself I think is awesome, EVGATech_DaveB was telling me a bit more about the story since he's farther into the game than me, and it gave me chills.  Game is in my rotation to play and still keeping me entertained.  Though not a horror game, it sometimes scares the heck out of me sometimes.

By the way Eddie, I got the game about 3 days ago and unless you have progressed further I am only one mission behind you. You slow slow man.  It is pretty fun though. Its a weird sensation after playing so many current games to be dropped off and left to my own devices with literally no idea what the hell I am doing or why.

The first time going through the in game menu was daunting to say the least. Every time I look through it I cant help but wonder how many things I may have the ability to do but have not figured out yet. Time will tell i suppose haha.

We need to get through a good chunk of it so we can start doing some of the multiplayer stuff as well.

How would you rank it next to something like Deus Ex?
I've not played E.Y.E. but it's in my Steam library already.

I've played Deus EX and its almost similar in the theme and play style.  Except E.Y.E. doesnt have a cover system or sneaking around.

E.Y.E. is straight FPS style shooter, but what really gets you is the story line.  Twist and turns, that will throw you for a loop.  You think the story is going one way and then you realize is totally the opposite.  Keeps you engaged, has a really thorough upgrade system, and art direction is great.

I have to say, you've got me intrigued in it now.
Those futuristic dystopian cyberpunk themed titles are sort of my thing.

I need to finish this game, originally I was running the game in surround (no hud, no subtitles when the characters speak), I had no idea what was going on, once I disabled surround, the game is playable now, just need more time for games, lol.

Sounds like me out in the world on a daily basis...running around with no idea what's going on
It's hit or miss with users on Metacritic (I never read the critics' reviews) and those types of games I like giving a chance to.

Asus Maximus VII Hero Z97 | i7-4790K Devil's Canyon @ 4.4GHz | Corsair H105 | EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 | Samsung 850 Pro 256GB, Samsung 840 EVO 1TB, SanDisk Ultra II 480 GB SSD | 16GB Dominator GT DDR3 2000 @ 2400 | EVGA 850W G2 Full Modular | Acer Predator 27" IPS 1440p 144Hz G-Sync | Creative Sound Blaster Z | Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Headphones | Razer Blackwidow Chroma RGB Mechanical Keyboard | Corsair 760T Full Tower

I have to say, you've got me intrigued in it now.
Those futuristic dystopian cyberpunk themed titles are sort of my thing.

Awesome!!!  EVGATech_DaveB will be pleased to have you join the legion E.Y.E. players.

Also, anyone else still thinking about getting it.  Its $1 right now for the next 5 hours!
