Out of curiosity, What is the small plug/connector on the back of the
graphics card for?
I'm not referring to the secondary power connection needed for this card.
Nothing is mentioned in the user manual.

    Not sure what you are referring to. I have been looking at pictures, and am not able to see what you are referring to.

    I only see the power plug and the fan plug.

    The display port connector?  The HDMI port?

    It's a small black plug at the very back of the card, the short end.
    Nothing is connected to it.

    That is usually where a fan plug is located, or an led plug.

    If your fan is operating fine, then I would say that it may have been an led plug, but i am not 100% sure honestly.

    The lower end cards do not always have LED lighting, but it is possible, as in this case, that there is still a header on the PCB for that purpose. On FTW cards the LED header is in that position on the PCB.
