Hello Gents

just built this: mobo: intel DX790TO, cpu: 3.60 GHz - i7-3820 10M/LGA2011, 8 gegs kingston, and an evga 780 ti classified kingpin edition (overclocked) which requires 650 min. watts.

i have a 700 watts psu (brand name force) it looks pretty neat and almost new, came with the gigabyte case i got.
after gathering all the parts: everything is running smoothly until i started getting BSODS errors as the following:

BCCode: 124
BCP1: 0000000000000004
BCP2: FFFFFA80074CC038
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

i used a memory testing tool called: memtest to check the memory: came out clean , and the graphics card is brand new.

after doing some research it turns out i need a bigger psu, i am just posting this so anyone would confirm my doubts before buying a decent thermal take one.

and which psu to get : 850watts? or 1200watts?

no evga products in my country , i got my vga from amazon, but cant wait to order a psu

i found the following in stock  in the lebanese market:

Gigabyte GE-X750A-C1 GreenMax 750W PSU
Cooler Master RS-850-SPM2 Silent Pro M2 850W
Thermaltake TP-1500M ToughPower 1500W PSU
Thermaltake TPG-1200M ToughPower Grand 1200W PSU

kindly advice.
Thanks

You didn't mention what type of budget you have so the CoolerMaster M2 850watt should be enough. If you're going to massively overclock all of your components and maybe add a 2nd card later for SLI then you'll need to go for one of the Thermaltake models.

    Hello Rjohnson

    my budget ranges between 200-250$.

would you please confirm that the problem im having is because of the low voltage my current psu has?

Yes it is possible the problems you are having is because of insufficient voltage and/or voltage regulation. However that is not the only possibility. You could also try manually inputting your DIMM voltage and DIMM timings in the BIOs and see if the problems continue.

As RJ mentioned, there can be a lot of other potential reasons for your BSOD's.

When do you typically get the BSOD's?  Gaming, on the desktop, during boot, etc.?

How many sticks of RAM do you have?

Is your motherboard BIOS up to date?

    Hello Again

rjohnson: i tried to edit the DIMM manually i lowered the voltage from 1.5 to 1.48, still getting the BSOD.

Nordic Jedi: i have 1 memory stick 8 gega
motherboard bios is up to date, i get the BSOD whether im browsing the net or playing a game (right now only testing crysis3).

i tested everything its frustrating me: i didnt format yet, planing to do a whole clean wipe, only after i make sure everything else is tested.

just got this error message again:

    Additional information about the problem:

I thought that might be the case.  Having only one memory stick can cause some problems.  These boards were generally designed to have 4 sticks running in quad-channel, and it could be that the single stick is heavily bottlenecking the system, as well as causing errors due to the lack of bandwidth.

Since you're getting a 124 error try increasing your CPU vcore inside the motherboard BIOS.

hey nordic jedi the image i posted is exactly like the error log file. so its a memory problem, solution is to get another 8 geg stick.

sajin will try that and let u know  what happens.

I'm not really sure why you're trying to run less than 4 sticks of memory.  Your motherboard and CPU support large performance increases when using memory in Quad-channel mode.  Anything less is basically crippling the performance of the system.  I can understand if it's a matter of money, of course.  But if money isn't the issue, then look into buying a kit of 4 sticks, whether they're 4GB or 8GB each.
