Whatever it is, what a card! That fan shroud is the meanest thing I've seen on a card in a while. Looks very sturdy. I hope you have backplates in the works, cause people will want them..

    Re:EVGA "Gemini" Dual GPU card - dual 560? 2011/03/10 04:08:37 (permalink)
It is the one that replace the rare 590 shortly when the production of 1000 card is sold.
It is also the only one you may find in stepup, not even a sure thing there either as it aint reference in normal terms.

also note the person (who sounded like jacob) said it would be out in the "next two weeks" and that was Jan 9, 2011. I do not think this is the 590 but a variant maybe a dual 560.

    1. Nvidia was probably waiting on the 6990 to hit retail, which happend this week.

    2.  I'd bet that it's 2x 570 cores, but really would love to see it be 2x 580's

Last thing I heard was that it was indeed two 580 cores.

It'll probably be 2 580 Gpu's and shader count, but with the gtx570 memory bus specs and clocks, and approximate power draw per Gpu..

That will put it in a more acceptable thermal envelope...

Personal opinion is the should drop 2 of the Dvi connectors and instead use 3 Hdmi and 1 Dvi, that would allow alot more area to exaust heat from the back if the card.

As it us now, its going to dump way more heat in the case then my Gtx295's, which means that a side-panel fan blowing outwards will be mandatory to control case temps if running quad SLI...

i stand corrected  he did say 2 months. He also mentioned non-Nvidia reference GPU .Since Nvidia is already all but 100% confirmed a dual card called GTX 590 why would EVGA release there own version and sell it along side the Nvidia reference 590 that is rumored to be mid march with more memory ? That makes me think it is a dual 560 ,budget SLI with multi monitor (3 DVI / one card 3D? maybe )support

Meh  Give him 1hr. We should see something

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Just throwing this out their, but what if it's not a SLI dual GPU card, but a GPU + PhysX GPU card like they did with the 275 co-op physX edition?

The one from that show was a dual GF114 with 2 gigs of memory so should be dual 560s I gave up waiting on it and pick up a pair of 560s but had to send them back. So now I am waiting this or the 590.

that EVGA card has Dual GF114 each with 384 Cuda Cores me thinks , but hey it is a good alternative I reckon, in many tests 2x GTX 560 Ti can keep up with a HD 6990 and it's cheaper also so yeah why not right :)

I just hope that EVGA gave it 2x 2048MB 256Bit GDDR5 instead of 2x 1024MB 256Bit GDDR5, as we have seen that a 2048MB VRAM buffer can be very useful

IMO that would be the ideal card.....

Having that 2gb memory would be ideal.....

Fingers crossed dual 560gpu and 2 gb of dedicated memory.... I'd step up from my single 560ti.....

    Yeah dead on man!

I'd even consider upgrading from my GTX 580 SCE's then too heh, although I'd put them to use in Project G34 with the SLI Patch Heck I'd even try them EVGA GeForce GX2 560 Ti's with the SLI patch if it would work, as for the name; EVGA GeForce GX2 560 Ti, well that is certainly what I'd call them for sure!

Two of these would give you 4x 384 CUDA Cores which is a sweet total of 1536 CUDA Cores, the same amount as a 3-way SLI GTX 580's, but then over two PCI-E x16 slots, not too shabby to be very honest

All we need is good Quad SLI scaling to get things really going on the gaming & simulation fronts and if you are a folder or a Seti'er, well 4 of these cards mght not be such of a bad idea either, then you'll have 8x 384 CUDA Cores which gives you a total of 3072 CUDA Cores to your folding disposals and maybe a lot cheaper than 3 GTX 590's or 4 of them rofl
With projects like Folding@Home and Seti@Home, SLI has no meaning, the more CUDA Cores the better afaik

This better be 2 x 580 chips, otherwise I will be going over to ATI,  I've had so many problems with my EVGA GTX 295 with absolutely no support.

How can EVGA expect to keep up with ATI when they make dual gpu cards without they fastest chips in them?

    U GUYS ASLEEP ?

I hate to think how many people will go to ATI if they put 570 chips in them instead of 580's.

On the other hand....the dual GF110 based card is rumored to released on the 22nd...sooo this is likely something else. As an aside, the GTX 295 didn't have two of the fastest chips either.

Hmm odd, I can recall when I had them two EVGA GTX 295 RE's, Quad SLI worked wonderfully in games like Dragon Age: origins, all Source Engine based games like Half-Life2 series, Portal, and Left4Dead series, games like Crysis ran veryw ell and Flight Sim X Deluxe Edtion + SP2 with REX 1.2.

Quad SLI can be bumpy with some things but if it's well supported it truly ploughs through everything, try to use Forceware 197.45 WHQL that driver gave my Quad SLI the best experience.
