Strange, if ManuelG from NVIDIA say that it´s not working and you and Jacob say it does. So why you can enable it with SLI, and (I think) the most other user can´t.

Can confirm that DSR WORKS on my 980 SLI setup. Using 344.16 WHQL.

Its not.official supportet yet - but it works for some user. Maybe there is a workaround, that every SLI-User with this Cards can use it

That's really weird.  I bought 2 vanilla EVGA 970s in SLI mode, with SLI mode active, and DSR turned on through the control panel, and it all works just fine.  Even tested it with a 3DMark custom firestrike graphics test 1 that allowed me to run at 4k only after turning DSR on at 4x. Using the 4x resolution I got around 25 fps with SLI on, and around 15 fps with SLI off, so SLI was definitely helping it render.
 
Surprised to see nVidia saying it's not supported yet when it appears to work perfectly for me.  Maybe it's just riddled with weird bugs they don't want to take the blame for yet, and I've just been lucky so far.




What driver version are you using?


The latest one on nVidia's website, 344.16.
 
I'd tell you guys the workaround if I knew of one, but it honestly just simply worked.  I'm on Window 8.1 if that matters.

I have the same problem DSR works only without SLI. is there a fix?

Edit: Well nvidia has confirmed that DSR does not currently work in SLI.

I installed my twin EVGA GTX 980 SC's yesterday, and although I didn't have much time to play around with them, I could find no option for the DSR in either the Gforce Experience or in the Nvidia Control Panel.  I'm running the latest driver, the one specifically for the 900 series cards.
 
When I get home tonight, I'll try and see if it shows up with SLI disabled, but it seems a waste to buy two cards to run in SLI and then not be able to use one of the greatly touted features of the 900 series cards.

I guess links are not allowed here, but pc perspective did an interview with Tom Petersen of nVidia and asked him about it.
 
Sounds like basically the problem is a really technical one relating to driver architecture, they're working on a fix right now, and they'll be out with a fix as soon as they can.

Can you enable DSR before SLi and then switch to SLi and see if it's still active in a game?

No, the new DSR-Resolution is gone after reactivate SLI and can´t choose new DSR-Res. in a Game or Desktop.

...I just built my SLI system, but I found I can TURN DSR ON, yes, with SLI. And It takes effect. I can select 3840x2400 to play  GardenWarfare on my 1920x1200 monitor.
 
EDIT: The "Disable" option for DSR is gone (though who care). I remember that there is indeed a "Disable" option when I was using single 980.

This maybe a dumb question but are you also using a dual port bridge or a single port?  I am just guessing at things that could be different between us. If you got the time or care could you post your system specs for me just so I can compare? 
 
EDIT: Saw them in your sig, sorry. Well I got windows 7 and you are running 8, wonder what the other people who got it working are using because the rest of the hardware is from difference makers but the same specs more or less.

Good question. I am using a single bridge, not the bigger, tripple SLI Bridge. My Z97 board only support dual SLI and not tripple, so I don't have a Tripple SLI Bridge

I asked another user that can use SLI and DSR what kind of Bridge he use and he answered that he use the normal 2 Cards SLI Bridge. It must be something else

I am using an EVGA bridge (an older one) that was for triple SLI and covers both SLi ports. I only use two cards but use the longer bridge to give both cards room to breath. Not sure if using both ports helps or even matters.

Here is the official word, DSR currently is not officially supported in SLI, but it will be in the near future. Unfortunately I do not have an ETA just yet, but will update when I have more info.

So it's not supported but it can be done, just weird how it seems to be hit or miss. I had skyrim doing SLi at 4k using DSR without any issues.

See another working setup listed as windows 7 and the failed ones seem to be windows 8. I wonder if it really has something to do with it.

There is your problem, and no I am not being a dick about windows 8. People who are using windows 8/8.1 are the only people reporting issues. I am on windows 7 and have no problem with it and others on 7 have the same results. I put together a test machine with windows 8 and the 980s I had and sure enough I got the same problem, go back to 7 and it's gone.

oh thanks a lot man! it's good to know the cause finally! But to switch the system to 7 would be a huge work for me. so i better wait and see how nvidia bring the win8.1 compatible drivers.
