Man I feel like such a scumbag coming here to complain since you are already being more than generous in the first place doing all these contests lately, but I just need to vent I guess. I tried to win the last 2 "play for 20 hours" contests cause just like everyone else I would love to win the grand prize for some huge upgrades that otherwise I could never have. Since I only had 2 games to choose from, TF2 which I had never played until today and L4D2 which I had played a little, I picked L4D2 both of the last times and it was a slog and a half. Very rarely would I get to play with any other humans, and it turned into a chore that wasn't really any fun, the second time especially since I started flat out speed running campaigns because I could and there was no one else there to care how poorly I did. This time around you've nearly doubled it to 35 hours (I think it's the Out of this World Gaming Event), and I didn't want to play L4D2 again since I already had done the grind there and it wasn't fun, so I decided this morning to try TF2 and maybe learn to play the game. It seems to be the same story of ghost town servers, and worse still on the NY server which is capture the points, the bots don't even move. I literally can either just stand there AFK occasionally moving and winning by stalemate, or waltz over to points and capture them all while learning nothing and having 0 fun. I know a lot of people would just tell me to play with friends but as depressing as it sounds, I really don't have any, either online or in real life since I'm a total shut in. I don't want to have to sit near AFK for 35 hours while playing Animal crossing and tapping a directional key in order to qualify for the prize, that seems, I dunno what the word is I want to use, almost scummy? Cheaty? And in all cases not fun, just a grind. If nothing else, could you at least see if maybe you can get the bots to work on the TF2 NY server if nothing else? I want to win as badly as everyone else but this just feels depressing more than anything, and I'm already on pills for that.

Be aware that level 4 (20 hours) has always been there. Level 5 (35 hours) is a brand new tier added this event. I do not play TF2, but would you consider looking in CSGO? Yeah, I noticed the 35 hours was a new one for the big prize, I barely made it over 20 the past 2 times not because I didn't have time (sob story short - I'm disabled, time is all I have) but because it was just painfully lonely and boring. As for buying CS:GO I'd hate to spend $10 on a gamble at winning for a game I probably wouldn't play much, especially considering I've already spent my entertainment budget for the month so even at that price it's too expensive. Worst to worst I suppose I can play another 35 of L4D2 if nothing else as I want to have a chance of winning that badly even if it isn't fun. That's the fall back plan anyway. I'd just be satisfied if they managed to get the bots moving in TF2 just so I can at least feel like I'm doing *something* to hit the 35 hour mark besides the same old campaigns in L4D2 over and over again.

I would appreciate that. I was so new to the game I didn't even realize there was a problem at first, I thought the 10m timer at the top was how long it was waiting to start the game, not the game actually in progress. I think I got an achievement for the stalemate apparently so I've got that going for me at least.

Try other servers? The Brazil server usually stays busy, but the ping is less than optimal for most players. If you really want a chance to win, you'll find a way, even if it is killing bots in csgo.

I'm not sure myself. There's hardly been anyone on the TF2 servers either and it got to the point where I just laid in bed (since I physically can't sit there for hours on end thanks to a number of factors) and hit movement keys to add up time since it was just bots, with the exception of 2 people I saw pop in once in a great while (shoutout to planetkeeper and Toaster) that I would get up and play with once I noticed them. As a word of warning, apparently you have to play with the bots even if there's no one else or risk getting banned. I just got banned and apparently it not only is a permanent ban but disqualifies me from the contest entirely which I can't say I'm a fan of but I can see the reasoning behind it. So I recommend actually playing if you can take it and want to win.
